I was just on ESR website .They have the center case set for the 250r for $439 without bearings this a good deal.I have a set of cases that need some welding wondering if this is the way to go or get mine welded .The motor is going in my 85 250r race trike.240124

I've seen those esr cases and they are a lot heaver made than oem cases and you might as well get the ones with the bearings and if you were going to run a stroker they have different deck heights available that would be a easy way to hide a stroker motor cause you don't have to run a spacer plate

Where are the cases broken?

Theres a crack in the left case above the countershaft and its missing the lower case saver mount.I ran the motor several times.I just want to fix or replace it soon than later. Its hard to get a pic of the crack.

BDT will do the case saver repair for 150.00. I am ballparking 200-250 to do both repairs. I can tell you the welds and smoothing they do are very excellent quality.

They did an awsome job on my 85 250r cases that had a nickle size hole in the crank area.I had a piston skirt brake plus couple other repairs.I only paid $170 with shipping both ways.I think I will just do the case repair with BDT.
