Been working on another old chunk of metal. It's 50's Boice Crane that came on what looks like a period correct, but mismatched Delta or Rockwell base. I want to mount it on a beefier base with wheels and give it some modern touches like a belt guard and a magnet switch.

Well seeing you asked…

I believe it’s a 1954 Boice Crane Model 394H 6” Wood Jointer made in OHIO USA. As mentioned, the base is not original and neither is the 1hp motor which seems to be a ¼ horse up from stock.

The original owner was a guy named Earl Haines who passed at 80 back in 2005. “Old Man Haines” as I knew him was a carpenter who’s work I would label as “exotic”. His grandkids were friends of mine and when mess around in his shop at times. There was always something special being built. I recall a domed glass ceiling frame made of what I think was solid 4” X 12” oak that must have been 16’ in diameter and all the pieces came together in the center with triangular tips and there wasn’t a gap in the whole assembly that you could slide a piece of paper into. Other times there were curved and spiral stair cases made of solid woods in process. He was also did some industrial plastic work that was cutting edge at the time. To this day my Dad says he was the smartest guy he’s ever met.

Anyway, he sold this machine to my Dad in the 80’s and as seems to be an annual event, my Dad says he’s thinking of selling something he’ll never use again and I end up buying it and continuing another trend which is my inability to not tear something down to the bones when I get my hands on it regardless of condition.

Planning to build some furniture when it’s done (or so I tell my wife).

I struggle from the condition EL mentioned. I, for the life of me, cannot leave anything un-wrenched on. Maybe it's my mechanical curiosity, or something else. My grandmother has always said that i would buy or drag something home just to tear it apart and look at it and how it all works.

Latest item into the shop is an old schwinn bike that my grandmother wanted me to haul to the great iron wrecking yards. Not this one grandma! My girlfriend has been hounding me for a bike, so now i've drug her into the shop to help hand "patina" this old bike. Way better than a 140$ huffy from bal-fart i.e. wal-mart.

Now that I'm done with trikes, this is where my attention has turned for the time being.

1990 Kawasaki JS550sx: Roughly 40hp
Remove 550 piston port engine= 0hp

Install 1993 Kawasaki Super Sport XI Dual Carb 750. Add 75hp and almost double the original horsepower rating.

The 550 pump is also going by-by and a conversion kit is putting a 750 XI pump in it's place.

This should be equivalent to a KX/CR 500 on the water.

I have a few odd trinkets kicking around here from a Kawi dealer buyout many many moons ago. They're fun when you're not ready to dump five gallons of gas and take a match to them. 15 years ago the two happiest days of my life were the day I bought my ski's and the day I sold them. I vowed to never get back into these things, becsuse the old piston port engines are frustrating as all get out and reed engine conversions were non existent back then. Now that more modern power plants are cheap (I paid $300 for engine and ebox) I'm willing to give it another shot. If I had to mess with the piston port stuff, I'd kindly let my buddies have there fun with their ski's they never sold.

Well....word on the street is Honda is going to be unveiling the new Goldwing this Nov. It's long over due and there's always bizz buzz year after year but this year it seems for real.

I sold my GL1800 not too long ago in anticipation of purchasing a new 2017 HD Limited with the new Milwaukie 8.....so we can pretend to be part of the Mongols or the Boozfighters. But with news of Hondas new wing I thought I would wait and see it. Also Yamahas new 2018 Royal Venture is out and looks to be one nice ride.....but they are not at dealers yet.

So until then me and my wife will continue to enjoy our old and trusty SE-I. This was us the other day at Palomar.

It was more about timing
When we brought the car in for tire service we happen to ask how much to get out of the lease and they said that we had equity in the lease. I've never heard of having equity in a leased car. It seems that they had another buyer and wanted my car back? They are also not an NSX/Acura dealer and I don't think it was inside their comfort zone (so they were willing to fully depreciate it.) It came down to driving one car for a year and losing all the equity or driving this one for three years for the same $. Easy choice.

Glam, I'm not sold on the electrics yet but is an interesting ride. Closest I will get to a 918 I guess

Today I am disassembling my sanctity in order to replace the steering stem bearings. I come down really hard on this front end and the ball bearings have just had quite enough of such a torsional shock load. The All Balls roller replacements won't be in until Wednesday or Thursday which leaves me little time to get it together before the weekend, but it should be enough. I was hoping to take it with me to Ben's in NY this coming weekend but we'll have to see if that happens or not. The front wheel is at the bike shop getting a new tire mounted as well.

Today I got some faux American alligator, some high quality pleather and nylon thread for another cover. The first one is ok, but this one should be nicer.

I broke 4 needles half way through completion. I pinned it together for now to get a look at it. This time I made a piece of round trim with a 1/2" x 36" belt rolled over some small chord. It hides the seam stitches visable on my first cover and helps strengthens the seam.

I picked up this Moto-Computer awhile back. It is early 80s and intended for use on older Goldwings. I thought it was a nice piece so I thought I might try to install it on my old CB. It has a mountain of wires for this sensor and that sensor and cruise control, etc.........but suprisingly the main hookup is simply 3 wires.

I am not going to use most of the features as there is no way....but I thought the trip computer, fuel usage, rpm, speedo would be nice to have. I've never seen one of these running but I'm sure they are out there.

I held my breath a little to see that after nearly 40 years of being un-opened it would even power up..........but after the 3 leads were connected to the 12v power supply it lit right up!

Sounds like you're talking about water transfer which transfers a preselected image onto an object. I'm not 100% sure what you call what she does, but I know it involves pouring water based paints, silicon, soap and likely a few other chemicals that are slipping my mind and the results are always unique. At the end of it all she uses a heat gun to get it to set before disperses out and all mixes together. They look best when wet, but it's hard to get them into the booth to snap photos before they dry. May end up being a two person job if she goes commercial with it.

She hasn't figured out how to do anything other than a flat surface and even then an 8" X 8" surface is too large for her to control. Then there is the issue of trying to clear coat silicon to bring back the just painted look. I'm going to get her some commercial fisheye retardant and see if that helps.

I would assume that you could get her images to duplicate using water transfer, so that's an option. She has coffee mugs done with the images and says she can get tee-shirts as well. It all depends on the pixels as the images blur our after a certain size is reached.

Well the easy part of mounting the moto-computer was straight forward enough. The mounts are nice and tidy but the location looks weird on the bars. It's really the only feasible way it can be installed though. Everyone who's seen it says "is there another place you can mount it?"

If I cleaned up the wires and took it outside and uncover the bike fully it may look different.......in its entirety.

Depends on how small you cut em up! https://www.mustang.org.au/forum/Smileys/smilies/hysterical.gif

I bought it at a Classic Car auction in Palm Springs around 12 years ago because it was so outlandish looking and I wanted to give my friends a laugh when I pulled up to their place in it. I can't tell you just how much gold plated wire wheels are so "not me", which is one of the reasons I bought it. On the other hand, the wheels were around $2,800.00 and the Continental kit was around $1,800.00 and they don't make either anymore so I could probably sell them off to the boys in da hood in Compton or LA for some good coin and probably make enough to almost recover what I paid for the entire car...providing the don't just "wheel jack" me instead of paying for them. https://www.mustang.org.au/forum/Smileys/smilies/thumbsup.gif

lol, yeah, that might amuse the crowd up there but I actually have never really driven "overly" aggressively. I have seen the gruesome results of driving stupidly way more times than anyone should have to and have no desire to be a statistic. Other than doing a few stupid things when I was young (well ok, a lot of stupid things), my most common grievous driving offense used to be going just a little faster than the speed limit on straight roads when traffic was light. I raced offroad so often when I was younger that doing so probably helped satisfy my need for speed so I didn't "need" to do it on public roads.

Well, today I yanked a valve cover on a 65 mustang coupe I bought from some gypsies yesterday because the idle was erratic and the lifters were noisy, and low and behold, I figured out it has a solid lifter hi po type cam, new springs and aluminum or ti retainers, AND factory 271 hp hi po heads that are worth around $1600.00, sooooo, I am building some stock heads and going to swap them and install a wimpy comp cam because it has a stock auto trans and a stock stall converter and sell the parts I take off. https://www.mustang.org.au/forum/Smileys/smilies/thumbsup.gif

You reminded me of my buddy with a 67 coup back when we were 16. He paid some guy like $400 bucks for a set of what were supposed to be 289 hi po heads. Turned out to be some sort of early 70's 302 heads LOL! I guess the real ones ended up on your car.

I had no such fun this weekend as my yacht is in the shop getting the stripper poles re chromed.

Turns out the gas tank on my Suzuki was not as clean as I had originally thought and I needed to remove the rust from it. Started that Project Saturday afternoon and finished up a couple hours ago. Didn't take any pictures.

Started by washing it out with soap and water while rattling around a bunch of nuts and washers inside it. Then gave it a quick rinse with muriatic acid, neutralized with baking soda and water and filled it with vinegar to let it sit overnight.

I bought every liter of white vinegar at the local H-E-B (they had 14) and then emptied the 7-Eleven and two OXXO stores as well as what was in my kitchen in order to get that tank full. It holds over 6 gallons!

Then this afternoon I drained the vinegar, neutralized it with baking soda and water, then rinse that out multiple times with pure water and then put a liter of 70% alcohol in to rinse it and then dried it our with rags and put a liter of diesel in it with a couple ounces of 2 stroke oil and sloshed it around.

I'm not sure what to expect for final result. Granted, all the big chunks are gone, but in between all these processes it seems to have developed a fairly dark orange hue from flash rusting. I'm thinking it would be a good idea to toss a magnet inside the rant to pick up any thing that comes loose in the future, but I wonder if that might cause a problem where it's contacting the tank after a while?

You should have bought a Kreem tank liner. Their system works good and it's not expensive.

I did 3 mini bike tanks with 1 kit, it should be more than enough for a big tank like that too. Here's a few vids I made doing my ct70 tank:

I have a Kreem kit sitting here. I didn't think it was so bad that I needed to seal it and have read that it's not a "forever" fix. I was really hoping this was going to leave me with a silver tank as that's what I had when I drained the vinegar.

I was looking for distilled water to do my rinses but couldn't find any. That may have helped a lot.

My process for cleaning a nasty tank was really simple. I used gas and cleaned it out the best I could...then rinsed...then let a degreaser sit for awhile....then rinse.......then I used rustoleum rust remover.......then rinsed and let dry. I really wasent concerned with the flash rusting but more with potential leaks cause it was really bad. Once I established there was no leaks a quick acid wash/rinse then forced air dry them immediately lined.....then lined again (since I had so much left over).

I used Hirsch liner and no leaks yet or peeling, etc......even with premix. The first pic shows some bare metal but before I started all you could see was rust.......no metal.

Never rode the liter bike?

I've never owned an FZR400 but the 600.......IMO is probably the best 600 of its era. My old 1992 600 was just a delight to ride. It was ultra reliable, problem free and in production for some time....even long after its prime!

I've never ridden the FZR1000 so it will be a treat to me.

I've never ridden a 400 as well....how were they?

I rode a 400 for about 30 minutes back in the day. It was fun in a mini bike kind of a way as far as handling, but was gutless power wise. I remember having a leather jacket and full face helmet on and feeling very over dressed.

That liter bike should get your heart rate up if you can get it out to a canyon, but I'd take a good look at that rubber first.

Maybe now the Booze Fighters will let you join?

Well unfortunately, one head is a 66 and the other is an early 67 which will affect the price a bit but the date code and part numbers are not visible with the valve covers on and they both have "19" on the outside of the head designating a hi po head and are otherwise identical, so if someone only needs heads with 19 or 21 on the outside and not matching date codes etc, I should still get at least $1,600.00 for the pair, but if someone needs an early 67 head I might get around $2,200.00 which is around where I will start them on fleabay.

Wife fell in love with a 1984 "little red corvette". 110000 miles, family owned, repainted, new front tires....seems nice..... $4500. I like to get deals on things when I purchase them but I feel this $4500 may be top dollar. Someone told me to run away from the first year C4 as the crossfire injection is problematic. Agreed. I've had my share of Vettes. 84 is arguably one of the worst. Dude is spot on. 90 gets you the newer style interior with air bag and round tails. 91 up gets you squares. 97 up and now you're cooking. I would think a sharp buyer could find a 97 for double that and you will have ten times the car. Be prepared to climb up from the ground every time you get out of one. They are a hoot, but for my money. Camaros or Stangs. But everyone should own one once ;)

you are about 6 months too late cuz I recently sold my clean 86 cheap.

stock 84 suspension is very stiff.

any vette with z51 suspension is very stiff so unless she likes a harsh jarring teeth rattling ride, i would avoid the 84 and any vette with z51 suspension although if you remove the shocks from a stock 84 the suspension is noticeable softer.

the cross fire is easy to work on and there are many out there still running fine.

the 84 and 85 have iron heads.

all 86 convs had aluminum heads.

early 86 coupes had iron heads.

mid year 86 coupes like mine had aluminum heads.

there is factory auxiliary fan radiator option get one with this is you can. mine had it and needed it here in so cal or wherever the hell it is i live.

cheap tires are no longer available. i bought the last set in the us.

make sure ALL the dash and floor vents switch properly and that the ac works. if there is a problem in either of these areas...run away.

Like Bill says got to own one. I bought an '86 25 years ago, enjoyed driving it on long open highway trips, being stick shift a pain in the but in heavy traffic. No real major problems just normal maintenance issues. Don't drive it much now only to smog it as the wife bought a 50th w/auto. That price seems a little high as I been thinking about listing selling mine for less. Here's the one fact no one can argue when your in a Corvette everyone knows it's a Corvette, no mistaken identity.

But there's NO heads like ROAD heads...

Funny you mention that…

A few months back I’m driving down what would be the equivalent of a freeway here just after dark, (Constitution along the river if Gramy’s reading). Traffics going along at about 50 mph when I end up behind an old Tsuro ex-taxi that’s been poorly painted white with a brush and is weaving back and forth like the driver is drunk.

My exit is coming up and I’ve already scrubbed a lot of speed off, so I decide to just follow the guy for the next mile or so rather than risk merging back into traffic as he’s now swerving a few feet over the line at times. After a few seconds I realize he going slower and slower, like he wants me to pass him, but he’s weaving even more erratically, so I turn my high beams on and pull up to his bumper to give him some motivation to speed up, or move over as we’re now down to about 20 mph and everyone around us is flying past.

I’d been able to see inside the car clearly for about 30 seconds and he seemed to be the lone occupant, but then suddenly a second person rises up from his lap and in one swift move pivots back into the passenger seat and sticks her head out the window and spits his load into traffic. Fortunately I was following a little to the left of the car, so the wad missed my truck.

The car then immediatly stops swerving and pulls over one lane to the left allowing me to pass. As I drive by the passenger side of the car I look over to see what the face of a non-swallower looks like and it’s a freaking guy!!!

Pinche rey puto maricon mamadero! I wonder how much my high-beam tailgating added to the moment?

Very Cool! I've been in only three Vette's in my life. A 58, 62 and a 78. The ride in the impeccable 62 was in 1976 and was only a 1/4 mile long. As an 10 year old kid I begged for a ride and my buddy's uncle agreed to let the two of us in as long as we agreed to walk back to the house when he reached the first stop sign. Well worth the walk, I'd do it again any time.

Ex-girlfriend in high school had a Che-Vette. Back seat was big....enough.
Actually we used my truck more. I had the seat reupholstered and like everyone in the 80s I didn't wear seat belts so I didn't pull the seat belt attachments back through the seat (between the back and seat.) She hopped in her first time and asked where's the thingy to click the seat belt into? I told her I removed them because the last girl complained about them hitting her in the ribs :naughty:

Well today I scored a complete rear suspension for an 85 Tecate which is an extremely rare setup. This is the upgrade I used on the production 85's to fix the severe bottoming problem the 84 Tecate's had. I also bought another 85 rocker and dog bone today so I now probably have the single biggest collection of 85 rear suspension parts in the universe.

Barnett was Kawasaki's main man, plug chopping like a mofo..... itching to holeshot Dunlop....

I beat donelop to the first turn on more than one occasion on my Tecate with basically stock a chassis and stock suspension with worn used tires that jimmy white gave me in san diego at the stadium race, and believe me it wasn't difficult, nor did his name ever even enter my mind. From the races I have seen him in on youtube, the only time he got a holeshot was when he left before the flag was thrown (as can be seen in the two races below) which I suppose is one way to get to the first corner before everyone else.

Number 19 in the 1983 Santa Cruz race at the 1 second mark. I didn't even see him in the video after the second start because the cameras typically focus on the fast riders whom are up front.

Number 19 in the 1985 Miama race at the 48 minute mark where he finished a commendable 38 seconds behind the leaders in a short 10 minute race.

Well today after shipping off some 86 TECATE parts I sold, I decided to fix some chipped paint on the front of a police interceptor I recently sold before it gets shipped to Philly tomorrow. It looked the same on the other side as well. I got spray can color match lacquer from oreilys auto then used 220, then 400, then 600 all with water to feather the edges then sprayed the color then sprayed gloss clear lacquer over it. Fortunately Ii got it to blend well enough that it's nearly impossible to tell where the repair was done and now the guy is getting a little nicer car than he expected.

If it wasn't for the inside threads i could throw it in the sand/pour and be done. But if i make a core that "works" it'd be easy, all i would have to do is push the cap-top half of mold deeper into sand by 1/8 inch or so to give a thicker top.
The core needs to be there for the shape/size of threads, the sand would fall apart after heat- giving you a nice finish.
My sand binder is co2 activated or time... I need to find a co2 canister, i was told/heard that those in home soda machines use a co2 bottle and is readily availabe at walmarts/targets but have yet to find any.
Used my kids co2 bb gun canister yesterday and that was a- well lets just say it didn't work...

Had my heart set on a metal cap, but since the plastic caps are still availabe new i'm won't go in that direction.
I'll try again at some point but i need to walk away its to easy to throw this part.
Anyone seen co2 canisters for sale?
Hope this all makes sense im cooking dinner at the same time.

I can make a pattern out of polystyrene foam (its like the foam around a window air conditioner) and pour the alum and it'll burn out the pattern to leave a part, but you cant get a 2-part mix for it. The foam in the can for like insulating windows is not the same (doesn't) burn.
In my pics i was trying to make a wax part cover with a like plaster slurry/dry it/melt out wax in an oven then pour into the empty cavity.

I've been working on a 99 Ram 1500 I bought for a winter beater so I can park my Super Doody for the season. I'd rather not get any salt on my good truck after all the work I did to it this year. The Dodge was a fantastic buy at $500, but it's certainly not perfect. I spent hours over the course of two days cleaning the inside of the cab, which was disgustingly coated in layers of coffee, then dust, some grime, more coffee, food, and god knows what else. It was absolutely gross and it had never been cleaned. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I discovered the previous owner's booger collection. I literally dry heaved. I couldn't look at it while I was trying to clean it. I ended up taking the garden hose to the interior, but much to my chagrin, it appears as though the layers of gross may have actually preserved the interior because it cleaned up really nice. Even the cloth is in great shape. It became a $1500 truck after the cab was cleaned.

The truck has 182,XXX on the clock, and it appears as though one of the clutch pedal bushings wore out about 82,XXX miles ago. The hardened steel shaft ate away at the cast aluminum bracket to the point the clutch barely works anymore. I wanted to remove the bracket and replace it, and the intranets told me it's certainly feasible to remove and replace, however my attempt netted me far less positive results. I'm not positive this thing can actually be removed, lol, so I'm fixing it in the truck. I spent some time today crafting a bushing to take up the worn out bushing boss. I have a new bushing to put in there as well once it's ready to be reassembled.

Setting up the new work area

how's the GS coming along?

barnett468

.

Today I took a couple minutes to look at the very nice 86 swingarm I got from 3 Wheel Drive for my 84/85 pet project to figure out the easiest way to move the dog bone mount rearward around 2 inches to the 84/85 position so the shock leverage ratio is correct. Leaving it in the current position would cause the rear to be much softer and bottom more easily.

I used a piece of manila file folder to show where the new mounting plate for the ears will be, however, I will most likely extend the front of the mounting plate forward around 1 1/2 inches to cover the area where the existing mount will be removed because it will mean less grinding time to finish off that area nicely plus it will give a cleaner overall look. I will most likely have it polished along with the fork tubes and wheels and possibly the shock and aluminum rocker arm if I have one of those made.

I am looking into having the bottom cast iron tripple tree cnc'd out of billet aluminum. This will save several pounds in weight, plus if I do that I will polish both it and the top one. I may reuse the original steering stem if it's practical, however, if it's not I will likely have one made out of chromoly which will save around 40% in weight or I may possibly have it made out of aluma steel if I can get my hands on some.

The bars are aluminum Aero tapered ones, so I could polish those as well but likely won't.

Since this is all suspension related and fairly technical, I was considering asking onformula1 for some advice or maybe even just have him do all the engineering and also make all these pieces for me....or maybe not.

oops....I think I just wet my diapers!

There son was told i'd be ready for him tuesday am (plenty of notice given) meanwhile i have this wall holding up two floors with shims/blocks/studs which is fine but "very temporary" i was told yesterday he'd do it this am, well until now i didnt know that he's living at home and in bed "its mid-day here"
Talked with homeowners said i would just take care of concrete work i do it all the time. Well appaerently he owes them lots of $$$ so i'm not to touch it "he will". He's been out of work!!!
I have to say this zucks.....
i tell ya i would like to put it all back together rotted and all and call it a day "but"
Sorry i had to vent, welcome to my life.....

The son was supposed to cleanout garage for me also "didnt happen"
246923 246924
All the son needs to do is a 3" cement cap on the old foundation not a big job...

Yeah this. Come on Barns, Tecate build thread time. Git er done!

Well with my insanely busy schedule a full build thread is a looong time off if I ever even get to it, so for now I'll just post the swingarm info as I go and maybe eventually make a thread just for the swingarm mod in case some people want to know one decent and fairly fast and easy way of adapting the 86/87 arms to the 84/85 bikes so the suspension will still work properly. When I first thought about putting the late arm on the early bikes I had no idea that some, if not all of the people that did that left the dog bone mount in the same position. It's no surprise some say their suspension sucks after doing that and they need a much stiffer spring etc, lol. Anyway, I can assure you that other than a couple possible one off parts like this, the one modified bike I'm doing won't be all that trick or highly detailed and there will be a LOT of things that can be picked on. It also won't have the bling factor that yours and some other peoples bikes here do, but one thing it will be that other peoples bikes aren't is, it will be, FOR SALE!

soooo...today, while dodging the cross fire and the collapsing towers, I spent a few minutes hacking off the dog bone mount. What I am going to do is use 1/4" thick 6061 in the location of the painted cardboard piece in the photo. I am then going to run a vertical piece between the main tubes at the rear end of the new top plate. On the bottom I will run a plate similar to the one on the top then weld the vertical plate to the new top and bottom plates which will form a structural box. I'm locating the rear edge of the dog bone mount even with the rear edge of the top plate. This way much of the load will be placed on the vertical piece between the tubes which will allow me to get away with using only 1/4" instead of a thicker plate.

I also rotated the dog bone mount 180 degrees so it now slants forward instead of rearward so I can use top and bottom plates that are long enough to provide enough clearance to install the vertical plate without having to modify the existing braces for clearance for it.

The box formed by the new pieces will also increase the strength of the swingarm, which in this case is actually unnecessary since the 86/87 arms are stronger than the 84/85 arms even though the 86/87 arms are 2" longer.

The 86/87 dog bone is the same length as the 85 dog bone (which is designed to be used with the 85 shock linkage arm only) but the 86/87 bone is slightly narrower, so I am going to use it because it fits the 86/87 mount on the swingarm plus it is adjustable, plus it is part aluminum so it looks cool and can also be polished. I will just use shims on the top mount to take up the clearance between it and the wider 85 linkage and Bob's yer uncle!

One of the bolt holes in the 86 arm does not quite line up perfectly with one of the holes in the 84/85 carrier so I am going to simply weld the hole up in the arm then re-drill it to match the hole in the earlier carrier.

In theory it will be a direct bolt on replacement for the 84/85 arm when I am done and I will only have around $200.00 total in it which also includes the initial cost of the arm itself. This seems like a lot more reasonable deal to me than paying $400.00 to $500.00 for a nice steel hreatv arm or maybe $600.00 or more for an old Calfab aluminum one if one could even be found.

I have a pick up truck. It is the white Dodge 3500 V10 dually on the left side of the photo but it's too big to get up my driveway. Even my black Navigator on the left of the photo is nearly too big.

The welder wheels were just fine. This is an older US made 3 phase Hobart so it's virtually indestructible.

I actually had a friend help steer it as I drove, but there is around a 1" high step in the driveway where a root from a big pine tree was lifting it up and when we got to that point it definitely rocked more than my friend thought it might and it did nearly tip over. If it had of tipped over I would have been far more pissed off about it scratching the driveway than denting the welder, lol.

When you bid on the storage unit did you yell 'YUUUP'?

I am sure it is in different in each state but can you transfer the title over without much trouble?
I had always thought on something like that would require you to go back to the owner and then they are entitled to it if they pay the lien.

They bike was advertised in a small local newspaper by the facility prior to the sale, then they opened the storage unit at the time of the sale so people can inspect it prior to bidding. There is a 10 day waiting period after a vehicle lien sale in California for someone to try and claim it, but basically, in reality, nobody can really claim it during that time frame, so once it sells, it is pretty much guaranteed to go thru and after 10 days it is definitely the new buyers.

I can transfer it to a new buyer with the lien sale paperwork only and they can get a new title with that in California. I don't know if other states will accept lien sale paperwork from other states. Past registration fees and penalties follow all vehicles in California so one needs to find out how much fees are due of any before they buy as they can get into the thousands of dollars in this corrupted state. If the vehicle is 15 years old or older, one can easily get a registration in Vermont which is recognized in every state as the legal ownership papers. This bypasses California's basically illegal back registration fees and penalties.

Here's the less dusty side.

The tags are around 1 year and 4 months out and the back fees are $390.00. This does not include new registration. Sales price has no affect on past due fees. It only affects tax and new registration fees when a vehicle is transferred, however, criminal california's minimum registration fee on any car or truck is now right around $115.00 irregardless of sales price. I don't know what it is for motorcycles. I just paid over $100.00 in back fees for one of my cars that was only 5 weeks out of registration.

When I was in Arizona several years ago it cost me a whopping $32.00 for new plates and registration for my $90,000.00 1970 BOSS302.

Ive been ordering lots of parts from webike in Japan,,, it’s kinda odd they sell all of the same parts sold in the USA like 88 cc kits, that Chinese exhaust pipe and many other parts sold here...But their prices are nearly 2/3rds CHEAPER than US Suppliers. Not only that my packages usually arrive within 1 week, shipping is not that bad either. The discounted price of their parts makes up for the faster shipping cost.

I paid less than 200 for my 88cc big bore kit which includes the head and cam.... T bolt USA and other vendors charge over $500.00 for a similar kit. That exhaust was around $40.00, in the states it’s 80.00 plus $54.00 shipping.

Some parts like the seat cover and battery I just used eBay cause they were not too much. I’d like to swap the transmission out for a 4 speed and install a stroker crank but I don’t have the time to do all that right now.

Local Meth Lab?

No, that would have been much bigger. It was actually started by some retard riding in the local OHV park. He crashed into a tree and his bike kept running with the throttle stuck open while it was leaking gas and the gas ignited. It burned up the entire park.

Spent Saturday in baldwin Michigan doing some single track riding on our mx bikes for my buddies batchelor party. Was a riot, 7 of us and not a single injury!

I've been working a little practice track in my back 5. I cut the weeds with my 42" rider, then used a disc harrow and drag behind my quad to get it to this point. It's been very wet lately, so it was a muddy first ride on the Z. I cant wait for the track to dry out so i can drop this thing 6" and toss the hoosiers on it. I'll add some small TT jumps in the spring.

Come on now, don't act like a honda rider, go for the Gold and add a big double.

Well today I needed to get a spark plug boot for the police bike I recently bought and found a salvage yard near me that had one and has around 200 motorcycles mostly indoors with a few old bsa's triumphs monetssa's bultacos, and even a sears bridgestone etc. It was very cool. Unfortunately the only camera I had with me was on my flip phone so the photo sucks.
