Today we finished putting in a new timing chain and re jetted the carb in one of our built 90's we call ugly, runs good.. we then started to tear into a 250 SX for a customer.. working on the 250 will be something new for us being we are primarily 90/110 guys but looking forward to the opportunity.

Well today I needed to get a spark plug boot for the police bike I recently bought and found a salvage yard near me that had one and has around 200 motorcycles mostly indoors with a few old bsa's triumphs monetssa's bultacos, and even a sears bridgestone etc. It was very cool. Unfortunately the only camera I had with me was on my flip phone so the photo sucks.

It's owned by a guy that used to race the AMA Trans Am series and since I raced pro motocross also, we knew some of the same people. He even worked at the same motorcycle shop I did in the 70's which was norm reeves honda, (later norm reeves honda cars, the biggest honda dealership in the world) but quit around a year before I started there.

Spent the night drying it all out. Ready to go back in-but I'm tried! It's snowing and miss wants snow tires on. Wait! Just bought all-seasons last month-I'm saved[emoji28]

Mild day here. On and off raining. Put away some stuff from my back yard into the garage. Moved some stuff around in the garage that I will not need until next year. IE pressure washer sort of stuff.
I have 2 snowblowers so I wanted to fire them up and be ready. (Honda HS622 and a Toro single stage 2 stroker) Both fired up first pull and ran great. :)
Snow tires are ready to be installed and moved them close so I can get them easy. Rain started up again. Inside stuff. Dishes, laundry blaa blaa blaa.

What did you put on the tires to make them look wet?
barnett468
11-06-2017, 10:55 AM
What did you put on the tires to make them look wet?
They don't look "wet", they look "new", lol.
I use Mequiars number 40 and buy it by the gallon from a local automotive paint supply store, however, you can probably find it online as well. Pep Boys and Autozone used to carry it in smaller bottles but I haven't seen it in the ones where I now live. Amazon sells it. I love this stuff as it has saved me a lot of time and made me a lot of money, lol.
There is no silicon in it so it won't affect any parts you might paint like Armor All will as long as you wash them first and it easily washes off with dish washing soap and water. It will considerably darken most faded plastic and rubber parts. I also sometimes use it on dingy looking metal parts to make them look nearly new again. It also dissolves the dirt haze fairly well that seems to stick to parts even after you wash them. If you don't wash it off it will stay on and keep the parts looking new for at least a few weeks. It might even last a few months but I have never had anything long enough to see how long it will keep them looking nice.
One thing to be careful of is that it can lightly stain plastic if it runs which it always does when you spray it on, so it is best to spray a lot of it on a rag or paper towel first then wipe it on. Go back over the area you applied it to with a dry rag or paper towel within a minute or two later and buff it in for just a few seconds.
As you know, there are other products advertised for making tires look shiny like this and many do just that but I have used several of them and they are all gooey and don't easily wash off so if you get it on other parts or your tools etc, it's a bit of work to get it all off, plus many of those have silicon.
Here's some photos from on of my ads for my a 2005 Police Interceptor. I used it on every part in all the photos. These areas looked very old and dingy before but there was no surface rust other than a tiny bit on a bolt or cable etc which I will sometimes mask off and paint with Krylon Bright Silver to make it look nice again.

I might try some on my Chevy plastic, thanks! I always spray the rag, not the tires, spray makes a mess of everything, especially rims.
I asked about the tires because Armor All on street bike tires is a great way to cause a crash, I know this first hand:lol:. If that stuff shares any properties with it you might want to remove it before the test riders show up.

.........but would they tell you when they lose dare arse ...........no
ummm...wrong but that's no surprise and is often what happens when one makes assumptions.
I have no ego to feed or anything to prove to anyone, therefore I couldn't care any less if someone knows when I loose money on something, but just like I have never post how much I make on something, I also never post how much I loose on something on the rare occasions that I do because I see no point in doing either, however, since you seem to be keeping a record and are obviously obsessed with what I do, I will tell you that I have lost money on several vehicles, however, I have never lost more than around 10% of what I had into any of them, and percentage wise I have probably only lost money on maybe 2% or 3% of them, and it's really quite simple....know your product and your market and you will make money, however, you might not make a lot and it might not be be worth all the time and effort, but you will still end up in the plus column to some degree.
My business formula is quite simple although it hasn't made me wealthy like you have implied you are on more than one occasion, and it is...don't screw people, work your ass off, and provide a good product. :)
NOTE - Notice how I conserved my periods in the first sentence above by only using one of them. Now I have lots of periods left to make lots of other sentences with. :lock:

No prob.
Yeah, I too have experienced the wonderful friction reducing properties of armor all on tires but was a bit more fortunate than you...just barely, lol.
Any product you put on tires will reduce their effectiveness, however, this one is far less slippery than armor all and will wear off on the road within a few blocks. I actually use it on rims on occasion as it cleans them and leaves them slightly shinier. Same thing with some chrome parts. I don't truly hate many things, but I hate armor all with a passion as do others I know that ever had to paint a part that ever had it on it.

I don't remember the years specifically, but Harley had issues with the cam chain tensioners some years. It wouldn't hurt for you to do a VIN check and make sure your cam chain tensioners have been replaced or upgraded. It will trash your motor if they let loose. A guy here at work had to buy new engine cases when his tensioners(s) went out. It can also run debris thru the oiling system when they start going out.

Today I picked up a mint condition 2006 Ford Focus with 42k miles and a nice 2006 BMW R1150RTP Police bike with the radar still in place that I bought from an auction Saturday based on photos alone. I found this extremely cool hydraulic drop deck tandem axle trailer at a rental yard just 5 miles from me. It's killer for hauling obese motorcycles on. I used it for the first time last week week when I had to move my Honda ST1300 Police bike. The white car in the background is a nice 1997 Ford Escort wagon with 42k miles I bought on Friday from an auction in near Sacramento. Those suckers get an amazing average of 30 mpg.

Just wondering, why wood and not steel construction?Steel structures are nice, but as an amateur builder, I was looking to save some money upfront by not pouring concrete footers that steel buildings require. I'll see if I can dig up some pics of a couple pole buildings that frost raised some hell with. The average homeowner would probably never notice unless it jammed up a door or window. It does happen though. In the northern tier of states frost can go deeper than 4 ft. I've been on jobs where the frost went down 6 feet +.

Yes sir, everything up there is solar powered including the satellite TV LOL! Got to tell you though buddy this trip damn near killed me. I did not realize how out of shape I was until about 30 miles before we got to the cabin. I felt like I had gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson when we parked the bikes.
I either need to get into shape, or start selling some dirt bikes. I’m going to try the exercise thing first as I really do enjoy the scenery out there, but my back is going to have the final say.

What’s really scary about this aging thing is the eyesight. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 7, but until a couple years back I always rode with contacts. Now I use bifocals, or whatever you call the fancy ones that don’t show lines.
As of the last year if I put contacts in my vision out to 10’or 20’ is terrible. No problem on a road bike, but when your trying to pick you line through sharp lava rock at a walking pace it’s incredibly frustrating.
I started this ride with contacts in, but after a couple hours I swapped them out for my glasses. I have OTG goggles, but the movement of the helmet, goggles and glasses combined with the owl like restrictions of these no line multi focal type glasses and my mild vertigo symptoms can make me want to blow chunks as I bounce through the rocks.
Like all that’s not enough my blood sugar is pretty high and that seems to effect my vision. It’s like I need a couple different prescriptions depending on the day. Aging sucks.

It`s that blood sugar thing that changes your vision .........it`s that warning shot across your bow.........you must eat like a zombie don`t eat fat people that like candy......... em`kay ? ..........and guess what ?......... your vision can improve ! .....how high ? ......you can pm the # and get chewed out by me later ........doctors suck ........i`m gonna fire the one i`m on now he`s the second one this yr........all they care about is you not suing them ........you say vertigo ......i won`t say the "D" word ......but it can destroy your equilibrium so you can`t pass a sobriety test by feckin cops ........what are you 40`s ?
I know what your talking about and actually part of my visual issue is that mine has improved since I dropped sugar consumption. Haven’t drank a conventional pop for over 2 years and don’t put any sugar into my coffee (that was a lot)
Thing is, if I wear a prescription that reflects a couple months of strict diet all it seems to take is a small laps in discipline and I’m back to my old prescription. The vertigo seems to be sinus related. Got some issues on my left side, can make flying hell at times.
I repeat, aging sucks!

So me being 47- i dont drink coffee, ok maybe a couple iced coffee's in the summer but i do drink a mtn dew 2-liter a day on avg. i never have had to wear glasses, vision was always great, but i've noticed in the last couple yrs seeing things upclose has gotten fuzzier. Think its blood sugar ralated? Hmmm what to do?
Has anyone here tried that lazer surgury?
My biggest issue lately has been those energy saving light bulbs(hate them) there not bright enough, i'm always complaining to the wife how dark it is. But maybe its just my eyes?
Or, same subject but has anyone been in a restaurant just before dinner time and they dimm the lights while your eating?
Sorry but i need to see what im eating or read the menu....

Jesus Shep, drop that sh*t!
Know a woman that drank two liters of Coke a day all her life and smoked a pack with it. Had the body of a 20 year old hottie into her 50’s.
Then one day she woke up with pain and when to the doctor. Heart, lungs and pretty much everything else was shot. They instantly put her on permanent disability and told her she’d need meds to stay alive from now on. She was 53 when that happened. Still alive as far as I know, but a hollow shell of what she once was last I heard.
Thanks glamy, will do

ShepHave you considered switching to vaping? Way less harmful to your health, cheaper and doesn't stink. From what I've read it's been the most successful way to quit smoking, to the point where big tobacco is worried about it.

Smoking, i'm talking about maybe a half pack a day usually if im working. When the kids are around maybe less and i dont smoke in the car/truck at all.
I've heard vaping maybe almost worse for u, its filling your lungs with water/drowning in a way.
Its probably been atleast 20yrs since ive smoked pot but/crud its probably healthier for you... Ha
Oh- and havent some of those vaping things exploded in peoples pockets? Or was that cell phones.

ShepThere's TONS of flavors. You might start with tobacco flavor, then switch down the road. Different nicotine levels too, in case you get cravings. I've been on a Graham cracker kick for awhile.
Vape shop is a good place to start. Once your knowledgeable and comfortable, you can save more $$ and buy online.

Right on the money! :beer
It takes a little time to find a flavor and vape that you like, but keep at it because it will make it worlds easier to quite the real ones and while it's probably not 100% harmless it is many times less harmful to you than inhaling real smoke. I have seen studies that indicated that vapes are no more harmful than breathing the air in a major city... Lots of studies out there with different agendas, try to weed out the crap from the actual objective studies.

Yep, eye Doc told me the biggest change to our vision happens between 40 and 50 (generally). Good news is that once that's behind us it stays fairly stable.
I hate it! My driving has gone from the ability to dart between cars at high speeds with a space between our paint and fenders that you could only measure in molecules, now I'm making half a dozen shoulder checks and freaking out if I get within 5 feet of another vehicle when changing a lane at the speed limit. Ever wonder why old people drive so slow? Wonder no more, they are terrified of the speed at which life happens in the fast lane.
Not sure about the fuzzy things part, I think Brazilian waxes made them extinct.

I always wear a shield Nico it still gets to ya. If you haven't been affected your eyes are stronger than mine. Welding countless model A frame rails 15 feet at a time in addition to much more has taken it's toll.
Nothing to do with strength. Been doing it and around it for most of my life, multiple eye Doctors say I have ZERO signs of damage, always used a #10 or 11, never darker. Blue eyes and corrective lenses help a lot, but I've had flashes dozens of times, almost always from tacking, but apparently nothing too major?
Tack welding with blown eyes is a very bad plan. At least wear light sunglasses if you have to tack or be around welding. Once their gone their gone.
On the topic of welding (if anyone reading this does it full time) Get your heads out of the plume. Premature Alzheimer's is starting to be linked to it.

Been helping a friend resurrect a Mojave 250. He's not wealthy by any means and not very experienced mechanically, but he's willing to learn and the amount of excitement this machine gives him is quite obvious. It's a big deal to him. It's been a pain being both a Kawasaki and a quad, and it has tried my patience, but it's getting close. We took it out yesterday and it has a hot start issue, hopefully just a valve adjustment. It still needs some more love but it's come a long way from the tumbled and battered mess that showed up here day one. We rebuilt the carburetor and ditched the old Cobra crap pipe in favor of a good OEM exhaust system. I disclosed to him after the test and tune that he's going to be passing the point of no return soon. If he wants to keep throwing parts and money at this Kawasaki we can make it kind of dependable and keep it running a good amount of the time, or he can flip it and get a 400EX and call it a day. At that time he was still favoring the Kawasaki.

Those Mojaves are kinda fun and have very decent suspension but they are kinda heavy. I did the majority of the testing (all the abuse testing) on those once the prototype got to the US, and after we were done testing, I built it into a race bike just for fun and raced it in the quad class a couple times. I had Jerry Branch port the head and had a custom cam ground then threw a pipe on it and bigger carb. I knew it wasn't going to smoke a 250 suzuki but it ran decent and would lift the front tire in the air. My ultimate plan was to put nitrous on it and I even went as far as to get all the stuff together to do it but I put the project on hold and went on to other things.

I hope you don't mind my saying pal...They were pretty popular in the 90s in to the 2000's around here. Warriors too. Back then there wasn't too many sport quads to choose from. I remember helping a guy getting a Mojave running. He didn't get the concept of tow starting it. Faster isn't better...more than once I was sitting on the Mojave, doing 60mph while getting towed by a pickup, down a road, then he was surprised that I didn't wanna jam it in gear at that speed.

Tri-Z’s, 4 sets of cases that will add up to three good ones.
The rest of the weekend was spent accumulating all the hardware from a dozen different projects and sorting it all out. Major mess, but one of those things that needs doing everything few years. As usual it starts with looking for one part and turning the place upside down searching for it.

Met with the Long Beach University police to show them my police interceptor they saw on the internet because one of theirs is worn out so they need to replace it and don't have enough money to buy a new one so they are looking at used ones. ...then they asked if I can get some more of these ...then they said they may be looking for a police bike also and asked how much I was asking for mine, so I may end up supplying that department with several of the highest quality, "pre-owned" ex police vehicles that money can buy.
Seemed funny to me that one police department sold the car and now another police department wants to buy it cuz they are nearly broke.

Well, the police called me back and it seems the chief thought he was a negotiator so he looked up the value in the NADA guide but looked it up incorrectly, so when they told me he said I was asking $2000.00 more than the guide said it was worth, I told them he looked it up wrong then told them how to look it up and also to tell the chief that it is also around $35,000.00 less than a new one without taxes, and they said, never mind, we'll take it. Funny you should mention that, because every police car I have had has had a LOT of coffee spilled in it which takes me hours to get out, so on this car I cleaned all the coffee stains until the interior looked like new, and then I sold it to the same group of people that are just going to spill lots more coffee in it.

Another funny thing is that I had to drive 35 miles to meet them half way to show it to them because they only had a short time to spend on looking at it, so they offered to by me coffee (which I don't drink) if we could met at....A COFFEE SHOP ....so I found a Starbucks and we met there. https://www.mustang.org.au/forum/Smileys/smilies/hysterical.gif

No my friend, sadly I am not. I flipped pickup trucks for over two years down here. Brought them in from Canada and the States, fixed and cleaned them up and tried to sell them for a profit.
I bought a lot of them at ADESA in San Antonio. Most of the ones out of there likely came in as trades and were deemed unworthy of so much as a rinse before auction. Those were some of the most disgusting trucks you can imagine. There were fleet, private and a few Sheriff’s trucks. Because of my market I was exclusively buying the turds and polishing them up.
Coffee and soda spills got covered with a wet rag and left for a few hours. Then rubbed with a damp rag an a little dish soap and finally a dry rag. Cigarette burns and gum on the carpet was easy, just cut out the gum with a razor blade, go under the seat and shave off some virgin carpet fibers, dab some contact cement in the burnt or bald spot and sprinkle the fibers over the glue. Seats were the same if the holes weren’t all the way through, but if they were it meant I had to by seat covers.
But snot farms which I usually tried to rub off with a dry rag before soaking with water were second on the grossometer only to patches where someone had sh*t themselves. The smell would get worse when it was soaked, so after attempted cleaning with water and upholstery cleaner I’d have to let them air out for a few days and then fill them with air Fresheners.
I’ll spare you the shot spot stories and just say that some people should be limited to vinyl interiors.

My theory is that they have their right hand on the wheel and the left up their nose. Once the booger has been mined they are left with the quandary of not having a clean hand to open the window with, or may have suddenly realized that they are in traffic next to someone like me who is staring at them and mocking them with nose picking gestures, so they nonchalantly pretend it didn't happen and rub it off on the side of the seat. Same thing when the A/C is on in hot weather, no one wants to roll the window down start trying to flick a sticky snot ball off their finger tip, so they just wipe them on the seat.
We had a guy at work that had a snot farm on the urinal wall and he was once witnessed seeding it. His name was Ray, so someone named it Uncle Ray's Snot Farm. It was so gross that the cleaning staff wouldn't touch it. It became so gross that no one else would use that particular urinal.
Then there's this guy who has become quite famous. I suspect he may have owned your truck at some point.

Great story Nico! Lmfao!
Whatever the reason for the boogers, I was literally dry heaving having to clean it up. I couldn't look at the caché itself, so I was just moving the cleaning rag around where I knew the gathering was. This kid was ambidextrous with a left and a right docking area. Everyone has their things, but I really do not understand the prevalence of people harvesting and storing boogers. There are few ways to make me vomit faster.

Thanks, it was very nice but it took a fair amount of cleaning and polishing etc to bring it back close to its former glory, lol. It had a 1 1/2" hole in the roof where they previously had an antenna so I had the hole filled and the roof repainted. The rest was just detailing fortunately.

Well, as much as I might like to stuff a few extra unclaimed tax dollars under my mattress like someone else I know might, I'm actually overly legit and claim basically every penny of income and take fewer deductions than I am legally allowed to. There are several reason why I do this, but the biggest one is that I really don't want to loose one second of sleep worrying about whether the IRS is gonna come knockin on my door or not. I've seen the results of a few others that got caught and it was not pretty and not worth it.

Caswell is very good so long as you get the mixing correct. That stuff gets hot, quite hot. I have a couple hot spot marks from it on my brand new garage counter top. I will be doing 4 tanks with Redcoat this Sunday, ,,,, just easier to use,,, for me.
I never heard of a "factory " liner either.

I have never had any problems lining tanks with Kreem. I started using it on my tanks since 2008 and never had any of it peel off or fail. Last year I lined 2 tanks again.... there both perfect. I bought another kit to do 2 more tanks.
The other week I bought an atc70 with a red coat lining in the tank and it looked like crap inside. With the Kreem kit it includes hydrochloric acid that removes rust and etches the surface of the metal tank for better adhesion. It also includes a bottle of MEK to rinse out the tank before the liner is poured in.

How is Redcoat?
The only reason I choose to line with Caswell is because I don't think I can remove all the existing liner and from what I understand Caswell doesn't need that "surgical smooth" surface that 15, Hirsch, etc needs. Plus it's epoxy properties are ideal for this type of a seal.
I as well do not remember any liner being used from the factory back then. The reason I thought it may be factory is that there is no evidence that this tank ever required a lining. No evidence of pinholes or bubbling paint or any trace of fuel seepage or leaking or anything. It just lead me to think........why seal this tank then?
I'm sure the ethanol in today's modern fuels helped separate the lining........which modern linings are more resistant to

That almost looks like it could be reactivated with a solvent and see if more of that crusty stuff will flush out. Just from the picture that looks like what happens if someone used vinegar on the tank and then just never cleaned it out well and didn't use baking soda to neutralize the vinegar

That's the only simalartys. Caswell's cures rock hard, redcoat will flex. Caswell you need to be on your A game when mixing A + B together (and I know a little bit about resin mixing :) ),, , gram scale helps if not using entire contents.
Redcoat,,, no mixing,, no "hot" cure and little to no smell

I won’t feel bad with an engine sitting out in the back 50 mostly unused. I don’t think the Oliver crawler will have the oomph except for small cuts. I plan to put a grapple on that one for loading the logs or pushing them up a ramp to load on the saw carriage. I hope to get the ih340 crawler done next year. That will power it or the deere TLB. Assembly will be a spring project as I want to sink some sono tubes and pour concrete footings (and yes iron, u need some lighter reading!)

Next time I'm over at my buddy's, I'll get some pics of his steam tractors. I don't know if he still does it haven't seen him in a couple of years, but he used to have a sawing party on the second weekend of October. Everybody brings food to share and they make up a small batch of Apple Jack in a small still. He saws up logs, old telephone poles, and lumber and everybody kind of pitches in moving logs and stuff. Good times!
He also has a big hand in the local Threshing Show, some pretty cool stuff there.

I've googled "sawmill" and seen some amazing contraptions, some good, some not so much. I have a friend that has a Harbor Freight sawmill that actually does a pretty good job, but it is limited to use for smaller diameter logs. It also has a high cheddar factor, which is to say that the build quality is a bit on the cheesy side. I would like to borrow an Alaskan mill just to see how well it works. A band type blade would result in a smoother finish and a thinner kerf, thus less waste, but I am working on a few things for which the very rough finish left by milling with a chain would actually be an asset.

I always wanted to "flirt" with an old steam engine.
You could purchase those little model boats and little working steam engines but it's not the same. When we move...and I have more room I may do it. Hook it up to plastikos mill and pretend like it's the 70's.......1870's

Nice motor knap

Ottawa hit miss log saw
I had one of those once. It was more efficient to try and chew my way through the log but it was cool

Just finished up about 4 hours of replacing mouse-chewed wiring in a 98 Polaris Xplorer. Cut out the nibbled stuff, splice, solder, and shrink wrap.
Found 3 big mouse nests, fragrant ones at that. A mummified adult mouse and 2 baby mouse skeletons in the bottom of the airbox. New battery with a new Battery Tender jr hooked to it. Greased all the zerks, checked, changed or filled any fluids except for the tranny.
Tomorrow I'll changed the trans oil, clean the clutches, put the front tires back on and hopefully get it back up the street to the 82 year old neighbor for hauling firewood and plowing his driveway.

Nothing like that dead mouse smell, we have one dead somewhere in the garage, takes about three weeks for Smell to abate

Steam anything is awesome, I've always been fascinated. If I own property again somewhere else, I'd like to have a steam powered something or other.

Just swapped out the water reservoir and ice maker lines on the frig. Replaced the compressor start relay a couple weeks ago. 20 yo old frig. Wifey wants a new on, but from what I hear they only last 5-7 years now. I'm gonna make this one last as long as I can ;)
Bought a new stove last summer, display went out on the old one and I couldn't find a replacement, new or used. The new one is a POS. Flimsy, wimpy POS. About all I can say is good about is it does cook our food.....

Appliances manufactured today are generally junk compared to appliances decades old. When we bought our house the sellers asked if we wanted the old Frigidaire in the basement. It just crapped out this summer and by crapping out I mean it just froze everything, you could no longer regulate the temperature.
Wife wants to repair it, but I want to let it RIP. I joke with my Chevy friends this is the only GM thing I have owned inhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171210/3626a20db1bc4c53c2a1d914714a677e.jpg my life

That fridge is too nice to scrap. It might make a nice toolbox or storage cabinet. I love the emblems.

I’d fix and keep it if I had the space and need. That thing will outlast every other appliance in your home if you can get or repair the faulty part with one of equal quality.

I was hoping to get 5 years out of the fridge I bought in 1991. I am still using it today, as well as a Hoover vac that my parents gave me as a Christmas present in 1986. I agree with El about fixing that old fridge. Old stuff is just neat.

Yup, exactly! I have to update the old tools thread with my latest additions. So many people overlook the quality of the old stuff. I guess some of us can repair some of th eolder things when needed and some can't, maybe that's part of the problem.
I wonder if a guy could do a little upgrading on a frig like that with say a new compressor, and stuff to make it a little more energy efficient. It would make an awesome garage frig!

If I lived close I'd take it off your hands. I'm guessing the thermostat is probably toast. It's possible maybe just the contacts need cleaning.
Can you find a model number on it? I'd be interested in just doing a little research to see if it would be repairable, just for sh!ts and giggles.

I don’t know about a new compressor Scooter. My 17 year old shop fridge is on Compressor number 6 or 7, I’ve lost count. A couple weeks ago the death rattle came back, so I guess another $400 repair bill is in my future.
My folks have one in the basement that’s older than me and it still runs like a Swiss watch.

Today, (and several days lately when I haven't been deer hunting) working on saws, overhauling most. Today it is a Husqvarna 55 for a friend. Cylinder had alot of transfer in it from a bad air leak at the intake coupler. Saved the cylinder using muriatic acid and sanding by hand. Got the saw the rest of the way torn down, cleaned and ready for reassembly today. Just waiting on parts now.
Saw will run fine with those minor scratches that remain in the plating near the exhaust port. The flashlight and camera really amplify the severity of it. In reality they are pretty faint.
