Hey guys; Well, I'm always down for a new project/product and half the time or better, I put time and effort into it but it's just not what I envision.

We have this failure in the 1st gen. 200X mainshaft 3rd gear and I'm looking to modify something to work.

Maybe I can come up with something; So, before I dive in, I need some information. I searched for Mickeys post on them but maybe it was deleted but I thought it had a couple pictures?

What I know, or at least I think I know, 20 teeth 4 dogs or lugs to grab the gear next to it on both sides, a certain width and O.D. for the shift fork, that's all I know

Could someone post a picture of both sides, the number of splines and the 2 inside diameters on the broached spline??

A sketch with widths/sizes etc. would be very helpful.

Thanks for any assistance....

Hey Steve, take .040" off the shim surface of the dog side and add a .040" shim on the opposite side of the 3rd gear. It'll never slip again.

The problem we have is pitting, not slipping. I can have new gears built 100 at a time for $260 my cost. I had 4 bids and this was the cheapest. I also am having 4 with only one small chip or pit in it coated with some new millitary coating they are using on some Can-Am rear end gears that has seemed to fix theirs.

I'm talking more about the fact that no one can find even a good used gear....

Stupid question im sure, but could you use the transmission out of a 200s or auto clutch motor?

Joe, I think everyone is having a tough time with a solution for this. The S and M may or may not be the same as the X, or maybe someone could run the mainshaft and countershaft gear from one of those trannies.

I'm almost certain that another models gear could be modified but I can't just randomly buy them and take a chance. If I had a 1st generation I would though...

Anyhow, I'll try to come up with something if anyone gives me the stock dimensions from the mainshaft 3rd gear.
