I have a bit of play in my rear axal. It is also bent. When I picked it up a while back it had tons of play. Bearings were shot big time. It was a bit of a mess. Ordered new bearings (Allballs), seals etc. It was good for a bit. Seemed tight. No play. After riding it for a bit. It got sloppy.
As the axal is bent I got another used one. It is straight.

Can anyone 'mic' the journal on where the bearing rides on? Also. I got another collar with the axal. Any measurements on this? I do have the manual. But does not have this info.

I have another set of bearings and seal kit coming. Just want to make sure my used axle is in OK condition. Hard to find good used parts in Canada.

Thanks for any help on this.
Rob

Should be able to find one on Kijiji fairly easily. I used to see a bunch on there for fairly cheap when I lived near Woodstock ON a couple years ago. Theres a guy in Seeleys Bay out near Brockville that has a bunch of ATCs he is parting out. If your ever out that way you could check that out.

Otherwise, if your ever down near Simcoe, I know a guy who probably has an axle. He has got so many ATCs, dirt bikes, and quads its ridiculous. Probably over 300. He is in the business of parting them out. I can PM you his info.

However, if its sloppy between the bearing and shaft...an old timers trick is to use a centre punch and right where the bearing seats on the shaft, make an even pattern of "punch dots" around the shaft. This will push up a little bit of metal and make the axle fit snug. Try not to remove it after you have punched it because otherwise you will need to do it again. Might have to tap the axle into place with a chunk of wood but it will be good and snug.

Sorry about that. Yes it is a 1983 200X.

Barnboy. I picked up a axal a couple weeks ago. A guy in Belleville. :) Thanks for the info on the center punch idea. :)
