OEM vs Aftermarket head gaskets, which is better? Honda ATC200M. I have read not so good things about aftermarket head gaskets.

I think aftermarket should be ok for the cylinder base gasket and rocker cover gasket, etc, right?

Go with OEM, Cometic or Vesrah.

I just want to add one thing and wonder whether it is a problem or not, because It's been a problem for me.

I have had a couple Vesrah all metal headgaskets blow on the 200X before it was 13.5:1.

I just kinda like the metal ring for the combustion chamber and gasket material elsewhere.....

Not for head gaskets. :) But I have used cardboard gaskets before too, they work great for some stuff.

Thanks for the info. Had previously bought a set of Vesrah gaskets and the worked great for the clutch cover. I think I will go OEM on the head gasket and use Vesrah on the rest.

Probably OEM on the valve seals, or does it really matter?

I would take a Vesrah head gasket any day over the new style all metal head gasket Honda is giving us now .
The Vesrah is exactly the same as what came on your bike when new .

Ok.... whats the difference? Isnt the Vesrah all metal too? Does all metal not seal as well?

(I guess I better get the gaskets I have out, havent looked at them in a while.)
