What's up everyone, been lurking on here for awhile now getting a lot of much needed info and I hope to share what I know if I can. Well I figured it was time to share my project I have been slowly working on. It was really rough when I picked her up but I am a big fan of projects especially when it has a motor and 3 wheels. I hope you guys like it and I hope the pictures do it justice
Thanks for looking 24709724710724710624710524710424710324710224710124 7100247099247098247108

Thanks for looking

Well I can't see the photos because the staff here hates me so they blocked my access to viewing them thinking that I might really give a flyin fk, lol.

Anyway, if it is an 84, and you plan to ride it hard over bumps or do some jumping with it you should upgrade it to the 85 rear suspension. I have the parts if you need them as well as some other miscellaneous items and may have a cnc'd billet aluminum lower tripple tree as well which is several pounds lighter than the stock one.

Hey barn...just how would one give a flyin fk if they actually could?

Thanks everyone!! It's been a little bit of a struggle putting her together finding parts ordering and waiting ended up spending a lot of nights looking for parts still missing a lot but that's life buying the stainless bolt kit off eBay well worth the money all the bags labeled really made life easy didn't have to run all over looking for metric bolts.
I'm hoping to start working on the motor this weekend

Dan, do you have any photos of when You received it ? You'd mentioned it was ruff,,, you won't be scaring any one here :) I am sure most of us on 3ww have had at least 1 "ruff shape" trike project.

Thanks, john

That looks good! I think it's an 85 since it has rear disc brakes. I can see a problem. I doubt that the 350x shop manual will help much with the Tecate.

Here's are some pics of the original posting from Craigslist and some pics when she made it home. It has come a long way since then. Sorry these were the best I could get they were on my old phone so all I could get was a screen shoot

I leave the 350x manual under the bench I hopes that one day I will walk out into the garage and one will just appear I will let you know if it ever happens

You are obviously one of them honda guys. All tecates had rear disc brakes.

Sorry Barnett, I thought that there was some difference in the brakes like that. Was it 84 had drum front and 85 had disc front? You're right, I'm not up on Kawis as much as I am on Hondas. I'd love to have a Tecate, but for me the part prices are a little bit on the high side so I stick mostly with Hondas.

Couple questions guys
First I checked my cylinder size and I come up 69.7 when I got it it didn't have a piston for me to go off of so am I to believe that it is a 69mm or a 70mm piston I need to order

Second what else can I use for a back caliper other then a 84-85 tecate people want way to much for them
I'm sure I will have more to come but that's it for now
Thanks for the help

ummm...maybe it's the other way around and you just don't want to pay enough for one.

Is there a v10 or v20 stamped on body? Can you read the pilot and main sizes? I've got some info on those stock Mikuni, basic info.

I can compare that one to mine in pics but not today. Monday-Wednesday this week can look at mine i have two. One I figure an 84-85. The other an 86 i believe. Pilots are 40 and the 84-85 mik has a 260 main. The 86 Mik has a 210 main.

Edit: both carburetors are vm34ss Mikunis in the manual.
It says 35 on pilot and 270 on main but thats a specific sea level brand new on the Tecate.
I will use the Mikunis, but someday buy a keihn to run.

+++Edit: there is a difference in appearance between the two. I will get some pictures of them soon to post up.
I think they are origional Tecate carburetors. Maybe someone else will recognize them in pictures to certify their originality.

Those rims are sweet!

If you’re missing any hardware try Allen’s Fasteners, or Pro Bolt.

So it’s been a while since my last update. Not to much to report I have been ordering parts having parts powder coated once I find some tires that I like I can put it on the ground and add almost everything I need to make it a complete roller. I have all the bottom motor parts ordered and found 2 pieces I needed to put the bottom end back together once the bearing are all installed.

Does anyone here have some measurements for the air box cage that the filter goes around and maybe some pics I was just going to make one
