My 1985 Big Red has those Carlisle Turfbuster tires on it and I have always hated them. I ordered them from somewhere a few years ago and had no idea how big and heavy they were. I don't ride this machine much but I would really like to get some new tires that are similar in appearance to the original tires that came on it. I've been looking online at some Duro HF240A tires. Anyone have any experience with them on a Big Red or know of a better option? I have a set of Duro tires on my ATC 200 but they seem a bit small. Maybe it's because the Carlisle tires are so big.

25" two-ply duros are not bad. They're soft. A world of difference from the carlisles. Rocky mountain had em' on clearance before christmas. maybe see if they have any left.

Cheng Shin knobbie is tough to beat on a Big Red.

Thanks guys. I have considered the Cheng Shin tires as well. My Kawasaki Mule SX came from the factory with Duro Tires on it and so far I like them.

I second that we just had the reds out in the deep snow and they did great

Well, I ended up getting some Deestone knobbies. I have a friend who is a tire dealer and he recommended them. I got them put on today and took it down the road and back and I'm happy. They look good on it and it feels like it did 28 years ago with the factory tires. It doesn't shimmy anymore and rides much better.

I had trouble wit the deestones. They were smaller profile, almost like a 24" tire. The trike was much shorter than stock. Plus, they were out of shape and made from low quality rubber. I really didn't like them. Maybe I got a bad batch. The price was right on them, but I ended up going a different direction.

It was a pretty nice day so I rode it a few miles. I think they are going to work great for me. It's unbelievable how much more power it seems to have since I got rid of those heavy Turfbusters.

It's might also have to do with the change in gearing if those tires are indeed smaller in diameter as redsox said his were.

They may be a little smaller in diameter than the factory tires but the Turfbusters were way too big in diameter making the gearing too high.
