So i found a back yard mechanic thats retiring and he has all sorts of junk hes selling. im mostly just interested in the atc stuff but my problem is hes about 3 hours away. i dont mind making multiple trips but i no longer have a truck just a full size car('13 ford fusion) so i guess what im getting at is does anyone know how well 3 wheeler parts fit in a trunk? i imagine he will let me bring tools and disassemble stuff. im most interested in what he said is a 86 200x roller with an engine so if i take the forks and swingarm off will the frame fit in a full size trunk? he has a few 200s' as well but i dont think ill get a hard tail in my car. im working on finding a truck to borrow but i feel i should move fast on this. he has that 86 200x and 3 84 200x rollers with misc. 200 engine parts and a complete 84 200x engine. thats the stuff i mostly want. if i can find a truck ill buy the 200s' also. theres 3 of them 2 84's and an 83

oh and he has a 200e frame and motor and a 250sx frame and motor. the pics are mostly of the bikes and 4 wheelers so i have no idea on condition but he says $50 for motors and 100 for a roller and 150 for the rollers with engines. its just what his view of a "roller" ends up being

Uhaul rents Pick-up Trucks fairly cheap, in my opinion the added cost is easily offset by not having to worry about tearing things apart.

Or you can rent a cargo van or trailer from most homeless depots. I took my wife's 06 Hyundai Tuscon and a small utility trailer to buy out a collection of late 80s Honda mx bikes and a couple of XR100s. I would have preferred to rent a cargo van and not dismantle anything, but the trailer was cheaper (4 hour drive each way and no milage on the trailer)
A 2013 Fusion shouldn't have a problem pulling a SMALL (6x12, MAYBE a 14) single axle open trailer. I pull a flyweight 6x8 open with my 2.2 OHV Sunfire, with the wife's quad and a bike on it I don't get going too fast but it's doable.

I disassembled a whole 85 Tecate and fit in the trunk of an 06' Impala some years ago.

I'm with everyone else though. I think it's like $19 a day from Lowe's or Home Depot for a pickup truck (HD has flatbeds). I think I rented the big UHaul box truck for $100 a day unlimited mileage if I recall correctly.

The UHaul van was cheaper and I do know you can fit two whole trikes and alot of gear in those vans.

Swingarm bolt may need lots of persuasion to remove. You probably know that, just wanted to mention. Renting vehicle sounds like best way to get things home. Wrenching in the elements this time a year could be a hassle. Hope you get some good ones!

Indy-I've seen that ad, and been tempted to see about what 110- 125 engines he has. Price seems right, and who knows what else may be of interest! I often travel north, maybe I could gather a truck load for you and bring it up on my way thru for you! May be a fun outing this weekend

i talked to the guy today and ya uhaul is a good idea i was thinking of that earlier. i think i decided to buy the whole lot from him so ill just rent a big uhaul. probly be a couple trips. ponder if i buy the whole lot and you want some 110-125 engines ill sell them to you really cheap.

Time is money, thinking is time. Somebody could have gotten it by now. Let him know you are paying for a truck to pick it up. Then go low, he will go higher. Meet in the middle. Easy peasy.

sadly i gotta wait for this months profit to clear but i should have the $ by the end of the week.i guess hes going to a different state to get back surgery or something so he really wants to sell it all at once. he said 2500 for all of it but hes sold some so im hoping to settle on 2g

edit: yup i recognize it now it looks just like my kdx 220 powervalve now when i zoom in to look better. so ya its a kdx 220 or kx 250 good call bkm.
Talked to the guy today im gonna go down with a uhaul and take a look. i wanna buy everything but theres 5-6 feet of snow at my house and i cant put everything in my driveway so i need to establish when hes leaving and how long i have. if he isnt leaving until after the snow melts i should be able to get everything.

edit yup i recognize it now it looks just like my kdx 220 powervalve so ya its a kdx 220 or kx 250 good call bkmIts not a kdx, CR, or KX 500. It's a 1993 KX 250. End of story.

easy killer i agreed with you i just thought my kdx 220 looked similar. the kx 250s ive had look different but ive never had a mid ninetys only 91 and older. not that it even matters.

It's frustrating when you tell someone not once, but twice, what it actually is,and they still want to speculate it might be a Cr, or 500, or kdx engine. The only similarly between a kdx 220 engine and this 250 is they were both made by kawasaki.

i didnt say 500 its obviously not. the only reason i said cr is because the guy had some cr's but no kawis at all and i really didnt care that much to try and stare at the picture. maybe your site is better than mine because by the size of that picture for me a kdx and kx look quite similar.

im sorry if i offended you i didnt mean toNot offended at all. I couldn't tell you what any of those other engines are laying there, but I know kawasaki dirt bike engines, kdx and kx. If I didn't know what it was, I wouldn't have commented.

That engine is a 93 with the dual spigot head. 94 up is single spigot.
