I was toying with the idea of doing a little work to my trike. I was thinking a good mid range cam and a high comp piston. Any other ideas???? When I install the above mentioned parts will I need to re-jet or anything like that??? Would I be able to put a bigger carb on, if so what size would you guys suggest? Thanks for the input guys

Keep in mind that if you put a high compression piston in a fairly worn engine, you should replace bottom end components as well. All of that added compression created a whole lot more stress on your push rod and crank. Just a thought - as my friend scattered his bottom end after adding a high compression top end on his 350x.

crank should be inspected for visual defects and replaced if necessary, all bottom end bearing should be replaced with a high compression piston being installed and I'm thinking that's about it. Oh, puchrod should be replaced, (is a pushrod considered bottom end)?????

Personally, my mods will soon include a mild cam, preferibly a webcam, a 28mm carb, but not sure how to mount it, and an aftermarket exhaust. I might also get a Timberwolf 250cc cylinder to get 25 more cc's of power! :-D

I use to own a 225DR and I wish I still had it. It was the funnest toy around, easiest riding machine I have ever owned.

If I were you I would put my money towards another machine.

You will never be able to make the 225 super fast or have awesome suspension. These are options that a 250R, Tri-Z, and Tecate have standard.

This is just my opinion, do what ever you want, I will try to help with any problems you have.

2 machines would be lots of FUN
