83 300r top speed???

Hey there I recently got a hondaline 300 kit for my 83. Haven't run it yet but just wond ring what kind of top speed and power they put out. My buddy has an 86 I just wanna stay with him when we ride fast. And what kid of mods help these engines?

Its all in the gearing. The 300 has more grunt than the 250 cylinder.

That’s a very broad question. Fresh out of the box they definitely had more torque than a conventional 250 cylinder. If your buddy’s is freshened and tuned properly and your 300 kit is clapped out then no, you won’t keep up.
