So I'm wanting to build an extended swingarm for my 84r. I have access to a fab shop and everything needed so there won't be any butch diy shenanigans.
I'd rather purchase another one needing some love opposed to hack up ones that's perfectly fine. So, are the 83 and 84 swingarm a the same besides the mounting tab on the carrier holder? .
My concern is the channel for the linkage to move in during the suspension travel.
This may help me hunting one down. If anyone can help a brother out and will ship to Aus pm me

The mounting tab is the only difference in the the swing arms themselves. All the linkage and shocks themselves are specific to each year respectively. This is a bit of an unknown within our community unfortunately, and eBay is rife with ads selling 83 ATC250R stuff as 84 and vice versa. I didn't realize it at first and there's no shortage of eBay sellers who don't realize it either.
Also, I have a custom extended swing arm I'm removing from my 84 to swap a stock swing arm back into it. I haven't decided yet if I'd like to keep the extended swing arm or not.

Thanks for your response. That's what I needed confirmation on. Yeah I knew the shock and linkage was different but just wasn't sure about the swingarm shape and dimensions itself. Yeah I've noticed that, eBay sellers say fits 83' 84' when in fact it's an 84 specific part or vise versa. I'll pm you incase you decide to sell. Cheers
