has anyone ever tried this. i went ahead and ordered it. 19.99 a month. no long distance charges in the us and canada. international calls are dirt cheap. it runs right through your cable line. it sounds like a good deal to me. i got packet8.

I tried this free 56k :rolleyes: online phone thing a while back. Very crappy quality but you could get your message across to anywhere in North America for free.
The broadband one you got sounds like a good deal. I'm sure the quality should be great.

My uncle uses that, he likes it but sometimes it is a little hard to hear him. Make sure you get a good headset and a quiet room.

we have a webcam with Micro. 56K dial up...I can talk to my mom or whoever else has a cam or micro and talk to them just like it was on the phone..No extra charge and been doing it for 5 yrs now.... I just pay the regular 19.99 a month to my server...Why would you pay extra for that???

Ive been with the same server for 5 yrs now with out a single problem...I dont mind paying 20.00 a month...I dont even miss it....Dont care..I know that I could get it cheaper....If I thought that 10 extra bucks was the end of the world for me I might consider it....I can find that under the cushons on my couch...

what phone compant do use for 10 bucks. i searched all over the net for the best deal and 19.99 was the cheapest by far. i think the second cheapest was 31.99. i just use my regular phone. i am not using the computer at all. it just goes through the cable lines.

I make regular calls around town and do business on my regular phone...When I call family I do it over the internet..My whole family has webcams and Microphones. Makes it a little more interesting to talk and see family that you wouldnt normaly see...I think that trikerider2oo7 may have been talking about what I pay for internet.
