185/200 front sprocket retainer

Do all 185/200 hard tail engines use the 3 bolt front sprocket retainer?
I was poking around online for an 8 tooth sprocket and found one but it dosent have the 3 bolt holes in it for the retainer, did certain years use something else to hold the sprocket on?

8 tooth sprocket more then likely you would have to use a c-clip in the shaft. I had a 10 tooth on a 185/200 and the stock 3 bolt retainer was rubbing on the chain just a little.

Ok. I hadnt seen one setup with anything different to hold the sprocket on, so like a snap ring or e-clip would do it then?
