I wanted to share my latest pickup, the Franks KTM 125. I just got it back to the garage so it is still very dusty. I'll post more in the coming weeks once I clean it up. The trike was originally built for the Nearys and was sold to the Grabowski family in 1984 at Oakland Mall in Michigan. Derek Grabowski then raced it from 1985 - 1988 nationally in the 200 class and locally in Michigan in the 250 class. It was parked in Derek's moms garage in 1988 after the Loretta Lynn National and remained there untouched until Derek picked it up to meet me. I first started searching for this trike 6 years ago. Back then I new it was raced in Michigan and I new a last name and that was it. Eventually I found Derek's brother Chris's email and I reached out. I received 1 response and then never heard back. I continued to message Chris every month or 2 for the last 3 years with no response until this month with Chris gave my contact info to his brother Derek. Derek reached out and we struck a deal. I met him this morning in Michigan at the Oakland Mall. The same place Derek's family picked the trike up from the Nearys in 1984. We thought that was a fitting place to meet. Derek did give me some old race photos that I will be scanning and posting as well.

Great story. What a find. Sounds like you had to be very patient and persistent, but it looks like it was worth it!

Are you gonna keep it a survivor or restoration?
