thinking of buying a 85 or 86 250R

It is a 85 or 86 honda 250R one of my nieboors owns it. I seen last summer when I all most bought it, but instead bought a 350X. It turns out that the 250R and 350X that I bought from another neibor were orignally owned by the same people. The 350X was in good shape but the R was in excellent shape. I cant remember exactly but it was in better shape that any of the 250R ATCs that I have seen on ebay. At the time I thought it was to fast, but now after selling the 350X i want something faster. Everyone calls me crazy for wanting something so fast on only 3 wheels and that is one more reason to buy it.( friends have 250R suzukis) But anyways he wont take anything less that $1200 remember it is almost in perfect shape. It has a Fmf pipe and on it and one of the tank scoops were cracked and replaced with after market. SUPER CLEAN, do you think 1200 is a good price. I sold my 350X for 1100 on this web site in just a few days. ARe the 250Rs worth more than the 350X? I figure if anything I can my money out of it but Im not sure? I see some on ebay with high reserves never get met because they want so much. what should I do?

o yeah forgot the engine I think was grey not black does that mean it is a 86?

and one more think how hard is it to find parts from factory? one of the reasons for selling the 350X was because they stoped making parts, but since the 250R quads have been around are there a much larger source of parts?

most parts are available. a grey engine and ATC on the seat means 86. 85 has "250R" on the seat with black engine.

250r and 350x bring around the same. just a little more for 250r's i think.

there are plenty of parts on ebay all the time.

Thats a dang good price for an R, specially if it's 86. My friend paid 1200 for his and it was a dang good buy.

well im going to get this weekend. how reliable are they? nothing could stop the 350X.
