i have a +2 swingarm for my Z.i put it on the bike for now, but, the mounting holes for the pivot chain slide are not on the extended one. the stock arm has two on the side and the extended are on top. did i miss something? i think jeb has the same swinger as me i know i got the lower chain slide bracket from you but what did you do on the upper??? thanks mike

Yep Mike, West Coast had better Ideas for a slider, or I guess they thought they did! :D

You might try to use a Banshee or Blaster aftermarket slider. The kind that wrap all the way around the front of the swingarm.

Let me see if I can help you here. First off, look carefully into those 4 little holes (2 up top, 2 underneath) and make sure they have threads. There are little threaded inserts that are inside the swingarm. They did this because the tubing wall is not thick enough for threading. I took my sliders off to clean and one fell out. they fall into the inside of the arm, but you can turn the arm up and they will roll out the open end of the tubing back where the axle holder is welded on. They are pretty small. If they are not in there anymore, I don't know what to do with out some fabrication and you might as well add the holes to the side at that point like stock and use the stock slider in my opinion.

Anyway the red arrows in pictures 1 and 2 below show what these sliders look like. picture 3 is a drawing I made of them after measuring mine. You can make these your self out of DELRIN plastic (acetal) or take this drawing to a machine shop and have a set made. It shouldn't be much cost, nor hard at all to do. You will need a right hand and left hand. what makes them right and left is the hole locations. If I remember right the screws that go in are a metric M4 or M5 Flat Head (counter-sink type). You need to check what the thread is for sure in your arm and check my numbers for the hole locations to your swingarm. If you have a machine shop build your sliders, take the arm to them so they can hit the holes right on the money.

How do the westcoast swingers hold up?? I know I wouldnt modify a stocker.. they are not strong at all. Not sure, but Ive seen a lot of them crack.

neil, if you look close at mine ,ive got 1/8 steel on the top and bottom of the swingarm just for that reason, and bondo on the sides to smooth out the welds,i DO jump it and no cracks in the bondo or the welds after six months!!
