Greetings ATC maniacs. I recently bought a ATC with JB weld on a previously leaking gas tank leak. Well it recently started leaking again, so I want to grind it off and repair the leak but wondering if anybody has had success doing this and what grit grinding wheel you suggest? Thanks in advance! redfleet

Use a wire wheel instead of sand paper .

I tried using a rasp rotary bit to remove the JB Weld from an aluminum side cover. I wanted to get rid of the JB Weld and have the cover tig welded proper. Well the problem I had was there was no way to decipher where the JB Weld ended and the aluminum began. Also, there was no way of "decontaminating" the aluminum of the JB Weld because I couldn't tell where it was. It can't be welded unless all the JB Weld is gone. I ended up grinding it down and then JB Welding it again, not much more can be done.
