What in world is this? Strangeness on an atc 185/200

A friend sent this picture to me. Never seen anything like this before.

It appears to be a Goki Electric start kit....with the starter removed.

Do we KNOW it's an american model?
An ATC185, 185S, ATC200, or 200S would not have a case spacer there. The M, E & ES had a case spacer there to house the starter gears but that mess'o'shet don't look nothing like them.

That is a new one on me. Quick google search shows they made several including 350X and FL Odyssey
That would definitely make good use of the optional DC power kits that were supposedly offered for the non-battery equipped models.


Gotta love that ductape covering and the vise grip shifter though.

The partial duct tape threw me off at first but I recognized the hole pattern. The vise grip is a nice touch.

The Goki kits were not real popular on the 185s/200s but they did make them. Safe to assume there are not too many of them around.

Here is another pic I found of just a motor.

If most of the pieces to the kit are there like the ring gear (obviously the starter motor is missing), it is still worth a few hundred. You would have to find a starter motor for it. Goki has been out of business for over a year since the owner Larry passed away. OdyATV purchased all the Odyssey inventory they had. No one knows what else was left or who has it. For all we know, it could still be sitting in a storage unit in socal where their shop was.

The atc is a basket case. But it's one of 6 we are trying to get. Just never saw anything like that.
