Dropping donor arms off to a fabrication shop for an extended swingarm for an 82 250R.

Looking for feed back and advice for the length of the arm, at the MOMENT i'm planning on +3 to make it roughly equal to a 2nd gen 250R.

Want to make the trike a little more trail friendly. The seat is right over the axle and I have to straddle the tank far too often.

Any one prefer longer? What was a favorable length to the old West Cost arms? STRoberts22 still fabricating? Am I shooting myself in the foot?
Thanks

I ran a plus 5 on a quad in the woods and never had an issue. Your bikes way shorter. 3" should be fine. A 200x front end would be a nice upgrade to handling also.
