well i can tell you in maryland,. your car would be stored/towed, and would receive a few tickets, and have to come to court to answer for 2 of them.. all in all about $700 in stubs.. not sure about cali!
In all probability you would lose your driving priviledge until you're 18. Don't drive without a parent.

In most states the limit is now .08. No matter whether that person is visibally drunk or impaired slightly, they are legally drunk if their BA level is .08 or greater. Despite how drunk you are or are not, you can still be charged with reckless driving and a bunch of other traffic citations.
In my state, you would have recieved a mandatory DWI. (automatic impounding of vehicle-even if it's someone elses, manditory forfiture of Drivers License, legal fees, public service, etc) You can also be given a DWI if you do not pass a field sobriety test, no matter the BA level. You can also be given a DWI warning if you pass a field sobriety test and are under .08, this warning stays on your driving record, and can be used against you in court if you commit similar offenses.

The most accurate information you will find is in your state statutes and DMV offices. This sort of thing varies state by state.

i did end up getting a DWI that night along with... no lights, no registration, no issurence, and unlawful use of an atv on a public road way. i ended up doing 30 hours of comunity service, loast my permit for 6 months and had to go to chemical abuse crap ounce or twice a month for 3 months.... this was not one of my smarter moves 8) also i was 17 at the time so i got YO (youthful offenders status) so i have a sealed record

in FLA if the cop wants to take all routes:
#1: Vehicle towed and impounded
#2: Fine up to $750
#3: I forgot the number, but a certain amount of points added to your driving record (Insurance skyrocket)
#4: No license until your 18. In which case you re-take the test for your learners and then have to wait a whole year until you get your full license (19).
Same if your driving with someone who isn't over 21 and has been driving legally for over 2 years. Or if within the first 6 monthes of driving you drive inbetween the hours of 11 and 5:00AM in the morning, not allowed to go out of state, all kinds of crazy stuff.
Georgia also passed a law recently if your under 18 driving you can't have more then 4 people in the vehicle no matter what kind of license you got or whos riding up front. (Unless its a bus, or a motorhome over 18ft) Kinda dumb in my opinon but what do I know.
Gotta know the laws well when you break them :D

Check this site out...It is where I got this info..Looks like a good site for you to go to with all these realated questions....
http://www.lawforkids.org/QA/Driving/Driving91.cfm
A Learner's Permit is not a license to drive a car. It is a special permit that allows you to drive a car on the road only for the purpose of learning to drive, and you must have a licensed driver with you at all times.
The point of a Learner's Permit is to give you an opportunity to learn to drive, with supervision from someone with a license.
If you were to be caught driving without supervision, you will first be cited for driving without a license just as anyone else would that is driving without a license. In addition, it is likely that you will not be allowed to obtain a Driver's License at all for some period of time as punishment for breaking the law. The period of time until you could get a License would depend on the circumstances, but will probably be until you turn eighteen year's old.

i ended up blowing a 0.09 that night so i wasnt to drunk at all to drive... but yes i know it was stupid
New York now has a level of .08 for a DWI so you would be busted but you were still under the influence because YOU WERE DRUNK!!!!!! And you are very right about being stupid, very stupid. I thank god that not every kid is that stupid.

yeah but im not the only one that is stupid like i said before i see a crap load of 30 plus year olds get together in groups of like 30 plus people and go on atv runs in the summer all with coolers on the front ends of there polarises all full of beer and they stop at bar after bar after bar and drive all day like that all i was doing is riding home. i know it was wrong but there are more people that do it then you think.... what do you think all these sledders do durring winter time when they go to bar after bar after bar " bar hopping" they are doing pretty much the same thing i did but all i did was ride to the party then home... well i tried to get home but the troopers stoped that.

I never said that you are the only one which makes it that much worse, not better. It really is sad with what happens in this world. I know that it would not be possible to stop people from drinking but for everybody else’s sake don't drive.

you should read the atva stats about the causes of atv accidents. 75% were avoidable. this is why the consumer safety board is trying to shut us down, because of the accidents. just cause other ignorant people booze up and drive does'nt make it ok. lets be a team player here. also, in ny, you can lose your permit if you are caught driving when you are not supposed to.

There are some things you must try to find out for yourself and not have other people do it for you...I almost cant handle the thought of you behind the wheel now....But here you go anyway...
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/ This web site will answer any questions you have..
Provisional driver license restrictions during the first year
The following restrictions apply to minors when issued a provisional driver license.
You must be accompanied and supervised by a licensed parent, guardian or other licensed driver 25 years of age or older or a licensed or certified driving instructor when you:
Transport passengers under 20 years of age at any time, for the first six months.
Drive between midnight and 5 AM for the first 12 months.
Persons under 18 may not be employed to drive a motor vehicle. When you become 18, the provisional part of your license ends. You may continue to drive as an adult using your photo license, which will expire on your 5th birthday after the date you applied

Define "Avoidable".

by "avoidable" i mean: dwi, riding on public roads, wearing no helmet(#1), carrying a passenger, etc.

these things i mentioned above that contribute to accidents are all avoidable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ride hard but ride safe and smart :-D

I'm failing to see the CPSCs logic in since 75% of accidents are avoidable they should be banned  If anything this proves that ATVs are quite safe and people are just retarded.

believe me, i understand what you're saying and i agree with you. i fail to see the cpsc's logic too. most of there rants and raves regarding atv's are total b.s. but we certainley should'nt encourage their views by our own foolish actions. i mean seriously, how hard is it to put a helmet on? i joined the atva at least try to help protect my right to ride. it makes me sick to even have to worry that they want to ban atvs. thats why it burns me up to see a small percentage of riders screwing it up for the rest of us. if everybody just used a little common sense we would'nt even have to discuss this because there would be no issue to discuss. just my view anyway. :-D

I was not refering to anyone in particular. However, some of the questions and comments I read here lead me to believe that some of us have no sense at all. Your comment (from p. 1) is quite relative to what I am saying. I just thought people knew more.
