Hey everyone, just wondering if I can buy clutch friction and plates for a yamaha pw 80 and use those in my 1982 tri motot 175? They look the same style just not sure if they are the same size. Reason I am asking is because I am having trouble tracking down these for my specific model

Thanks!

Just looked the part number up on ebay and it showed 12 different listings with nos friction plates. One listing had 5 NOS plates.

Yes I saw those listings...Im asking if a PW80 kit will work because I can buy a much more available kit for this and just want to know if that is the same between the trimoto/pw80

Thanks

Get on a site with a parts fiche and compare OEM part numbers. If they are the same you can use them, if they aren’t then it’s unlikely they would fit.

I find that if you take an OEM part number and Google it sometimes there are newer machines that come up that share the part and are easier to find.

Good luck :beer

PLATE,FRICTION 3E5-16521-00-00: IS from the PW80

PLATE, FRICTION 3X3-16521-00-00 : Is from the tri moto

Theyre so close just not the exact same. On the images I look at they look identical, same number of internal cogs, same style just cant tell if theyre the same diameter and thickness

Maybe buy one and check against your trike plates? Overall Thickness can be adjusted by adding or subtracting plates inside the clutch pack of need be.
