For all you guys with skinny tire on your 250 SX what exactly did you need. Is it a 350X or 200x rim and hub?

Most guys get a 200x front end.
Forks, triple trees, hub and wheel assembly. Pretty well just bolts right on. Only modification need would be the steering stops. Some guys don’t bother, just allows you to turn tighter. Another benefit of this swap is having front disc brakes.

There are lots of threads on here for swapping in narrower front tires for the 250SX. The one above is just one recent one. There are others that go into greater depth on what need to do. You don't have to change the entire front end. Basically switch to a 10" wheel and then choose whatever tire you like.

Only real issue is Douglas does not make a .190 aluminum 10x5 wheel with a 2+3 off set (to get the valve stem on the opposite side of the brake drum, now that said it will work as others have shown. many seem opt for a steel wheel that does have a 2+3 offset.
I am on the fence as to which to get.

I purchased everything from Rocky Mountain Atv. The front 4/110 4/130 Douglas .125 10x5 3.0+2.0 . Part number 1087590023 It should come up for a 1986 Honda trx250 utility. It's a dual pattern wheel I had to slightly enlarge the holes ever so much. For the rear Douglas 4/110 .125 10/9 3.0 + 6.0 offset this gave me over a inch wider then stock. Part number 1087590015. This will come up the same 1986 Honda trx250 utility. I did not have to enlarge the holes. Stock hub all around I like it much better for trail riding. 22/7/10 on the front 20/10/10 on the rear.

Road 30 miles @ National Boone Forrest with this setup. Contemplating on doing one to my big red as well with steelies. I ran holeshots they worked great good traction but can break loss easy on the corners to slide.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191208/15a8ff4ff044cc5c99c70d2eb97350f7.jpg

So the front used the stock hub and brake drum. Did you have to modify the spacers or did the new rim keep everything centered?

So you didn't have to modify or remove #5 and #7 in the photo below?

Don't feel bad. I have had a pair of rims for my 250ES on order since June. Apparently DWT got shut down HARD.

that sucks because the web sellers keep saying expected in stock in 7 more days... i wish they would just be upfront and tell me they have not gotten an order in since June and don't know when to expect them... Now i am moving on to steel and can't find them?? plus new question: i know i can use a 10x5 3+2 offset, but would a 10x5 2+3 offset work or will it mess up brake drum? i would like valve stem on opposite side of drum but its not a must.. does the 3 or 2 represent which side the drum MUST go on? thus to keep the drum do i HAVE to use the 3+2 ? i need a tire now and willing to take steel or alum. 2+3 or 3+2 in 10x5

MattThis is an 85 200x front end. Used the shock boots from the sx front end cause they are in better shape. For steering stops I used some big nuts welded to the steering stem housing.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200827/32a85301996b69895c2af66259d844df.jpg

Nice bike agedatc.
My 85 SX is a wheelie machine, it has the stock front end, did this conversion lengthen the wheel base, or change the wheelie characteristics? more/less wheelie prone?
I really like the front disc brake option as well.

My 85 Sx also has a 200X front end. The front disc brake is great. If the wheelbase does change with this, I don't think that it would affect the wheelies much. To change that, the rear end (not really an option here) is the one to change the length on.

MrC.Sorry to be a late responder, MrConcdid.
Front end still comes up with little effort. Didn't even give a thought to the wheelbase. Guess I could measure and compare to stock dimension. Assuming the measurement would be axle to axle?

Would that setup still work on a 110? I’m intrigued now haha. I need new rubber so maybe I can order a different front rim for a skinny tire set up

I believe that it would. You'd probably be riding a chopper if you put a 200X front end on your 110. You'd also probably need to buy a steering stem adapter as well. Muthey is the one who's making them these days.

On a 110, put a 185s 0r 200 shock front end on it.
not as good as a 200x but a nice improvement over ridge mount.
