okay, just dragged home another sad derelict orphan. 81 185s. Trans shifts thru the gears but motor is stuck! got tyranny fluid in the cylinder right now , but if it doesn't break free, I've got a complete 85 200x motor from the project I picked up last week.
will the 200x motor fit in the 185s frame? got it for $60. I think I might have a spare 185 motor, but just trying to see what my options are. thx jim262689262690

one thing missing in the pic is the three wheeler in the back of my 68 El camino ☹

Yes I believe it will. I'm not sure what modifications need to be made but I don't think it's much.

kick start has to clear the head pipe, clutch lever. does the brake, kick start clear the right foot peg? use 185 intake. just thinking out loud. jim

That useable seat pan is probably the most valuable part on it.

I've had this extra seat pan in the shed for years, I think they're the same. if so maybe it would make good trading material. jim

well the Honda gods smiled down on me. took the recoil off, used a socket and ratchet to turn the motor over. cylinder was filled with trans fluid last night, stuck a used plug in it and it fired right up!
now to order a new plug, brake levers, maybe a seat cover and a tire or 3. jim

new tire came in this afternoon, got it installed, new brake lever and spark plugs. And it wouldn't start. jiggled the wire to the coil and it runs again. must have knocked it changing the tires. waiting for the seat cover, left brake lever and fix the headlight mount. got a tail light off a 200x, going to fab a mount for it.
took it around the alley, forgot how much more get up and go these have compared to a 110.
turns out the spare seat pan I had was a 185s pan. its got a he rjsted thru in the middle, but I'm probably going to use it and keep the good pan dry in the shed. jim

Simple, low maintenance, easy to load into even the smallest pickup bed, and fun to just putt around. It's hard to beat the 185S for an adult sized, fun trike, if just wanting to keep something for occasional riding without $$$ sitting around between.

now that the kids are getting into dirt toys, this might just end up as grandpops go to ride. just need to get it inspected so I can get a title to get ohv sticker for it.i just sold 2 decent 200x trikes, main reason I sold them was due to my bad knee. swells up for days after kicking them over. yeah, should have made a auto x out of one of them jim
