Got this one running today, had a heck of a time finding spark, narrowed it down to the stator. Threw on a used carb and a test tank and she fired right up. Someone must have been through this motor at one time it has great compression and doesn’t smoke, a rarity on unknown motors. Time to strip it and put this frame up for sale, we’ll keep the motor for a different flip down the road.

Nice ride! Curiousity - how did you narrow it down to the stator? I have a 110 (132cc) that I can't get spark on and am tired of chasing my tail on it. Any other trouble shooting tips?

Start with the easy. Points, coil wire, ground, plug and wiring. We eliminated all the wiring on this besides the coil, stator and points so that helped. Checked readings on 2 coils both measured the same so that eliminates the coil. Made sure the points worked as they should took a reading on the stator and noticed a false reading on the two wires.
Eliminate one thing at a time and soon you will be down to the only thing it could be. . Fortunately for us we have a stock pile of parts that we can dip into.
So you have a points or cdi? I myself don’t like cdi trikes to many electrical components, points are much easier imo.

It's a late 70's points. I set the gap and checked all connections. My hunch is the coil...

What are you going to ask for the frame? I know a guy that's been looking for something similar.

Weighing our options right now Erick, but we price this frame at 4-450, have not decided what we will do yet, have a few folks wanting to do some possible trading
