It looks like a cozy place. I like that old as hell WeedEater too! I've got one of those and they're heavy, but got the power. When you need something with a blade, you need something with power.

Back in early August, I moved in order to go to college and so I am now currently shopless... It really sucks going from having a small workshop with everything i could ever need to none at all. It is only an hour and a half drive to go back home when i am able to, but i still wish my place had a garage, not even to work in, but to park my pickup.

I added peg board to my small work area last night. I put if off for years but it's not bad once I gave in. I made sure the work bench is small, not large. Smaller the better = less stuff I'd work on at any given time.

I'm getting to the point where I would like one of those lift/tables, but by the time I pack all three rigs, my two trikes, two quads, and the zero turn in the garage when the snow comes, I don't have any room for the table, lol.

Not just that but more work surface means more junk sitting on it. Our other bench was put in to do the finer stuff on recoils, carbs, electrical but it always seems it’s always full of stuff.

That's why you get an apartment on the first floor.

A couple wheel dollies under the rear tires, stand the trike upright, and push it through the doorway. I had an upstairs apartment once and the moped I had at the time was light enough that I could carry it up. On a nice day, I'd put it on the balcony to work on it and watch the domestic disputes in the parking lot while having a beer. On really good days, I could watch the groups of peaceful youths roaming through the parking lot checking for unlocked cars, oblivious that I was even watching.

Did that in my shed a few months back. Had to get all my parts off the floor so I decided I could hang most of them on the wall.

I've got a 20x12 shed but the work area is small since I have the mowers, yard vac, power washer, bicycles, etc. Need to cull a few things.

If you wanna see a real nice shop search "plastikosmd" in the search bar and check his out. Real slick setup.

Me, ive just got a small corner in the garage right now. Not much but it works.

Contemplating when to give the suki alt185 a do-over, recently had her running/driving for a final parts list. Since you guys are talking about storage/shop space, i've been slowly gathering up parts for it in the past few yrs, last week i started bringing scattered parts inside to see what may still be needed. The wife hasn't noticed "yet" but my sock drawer has become my temporary storage spot. Even the suki parts are getting hard to find, but i'm almost ready.:D

This is where I go to "MAKE 3 WHEELERS GREAT AGAIN"
( And boats, trucks, tractors or whatever else comes my way)

I was looking for a milling machine for a long time. When I found this one I had to have it.

A few years back I decided to isolate my "workshop" from my storage / trike room. I ended up with a small 11' X 13' room, but large enough to work on any one machine at a time. I also piped heat into this workshop to allow winter work to be done comfortably. The small space helps conserve energy in that department as well. The whole concept is to not have more than one project going at one time. It has worked out really well for me. No more lost parts during builds either (or tools for that matter). I was able to finish / tie up loose ends prior to building this, so now I am happy to do anything in here, again, only one at a time. I also have a small metal working shop outside of these walls, yet isolated from the trikes - this helps keep the trikes from getting dust and dirt on them while grinding / cutting / welding.

Yes you had a solid idea when you came up with this! My problem is I don't have patients lol. But I love the idea of only having to heat that little room. I'm going to be spending a lot of time in my shop this winter. Its not insulated, and I don't have a good heat source to work with. So this should be interesting............................

Noted...please follow up with a picture of it in parts, scattered across the floor.

And...Jesus (edited for cursing), South Dakota apartments look a lot like Arkansas ones. I could live there and be at home. I thought the farther north people lived in the US, the better off they were.

If you insulate a small area, heating it is not that bad. Do you have natural gas where you are? or is it electric or propane only?

The problem is my shop is big and open. I have a largeish area I would need to heat. So basically I just need to nut up and drop the 5 grand its going to, for insulation and steel. Then find a decent used oil furnace and call it a day.
