185s carb question

when riding the 185, choke open and go past 1/2 throttle the trike wants to die. click the choke to half choke and it runs great into full throttle.
motor is stock, stock exhaust and muffler, stock air box.
haven't rebuilt the carb yet, seems like it's lean at full throttle. anything to look for? jim

If adding choke, at higher rpm makes it run better its lean. Choking an engine richens up the mixture. so you are correct
pull the main jet and verify the number or size of it. it could have been changed some years ago.

Raising the needle would richen it up, it may be enough to cure your problem.

An intake valve out of adjustment can act like that too. When was the last time you check the valve lash?

not sure, ill check it today. I imagine if its a little tight it would lose power. jim
