Got this sad shape 350x swingarm that was cut up.

Shock linkage bolts were cut too and frozen. I got them out and chased the threads. Skid plate mounts were bad and I see no one makes skid plates now. I took them off.

I have a 300ex rear end....idea!

Do i get a new carrier made and weld in?
Do i cut 300ex swinger for carrier only?
Do i do somthing else like mix 300ex shock mount and back to replace all 350x?

All parts are free / more than paid for them selves. I'd like to cut 300ex up . Who needs those swingarms anyway but I hate to cut it up at the same time.

Been looking at this mess last 2 days. I started building more of my own parts so if I do cut it will get done my way, Plug welding gusseting / stiffeners.

Anyone else run into somthing like this? At sane time I have 88 oem trx250r rear shock I thought of working out to run 1.5" more travel as a no link revalved / sprung shock.

I've extended swingers before and have carbon arc welder at work that will blow weld away.

Not paying $200 for another OEM 350x arm, it will just need work anyway.

Thoughts, I'd rather make minimal cut than build a puzzle.

Some have taken a 350X swinger and shock and put on their 300ex.....so this is the opposite.
http://www.atvriders.com/vbb/archive/index.php/t-41252.html

According to that, the 350X swinger is a little narrower at the pivot than the 300ex. So if you use the 300ex section at the pivot, it may be too wide unless you shave a little off. Stock bearings may not work then and may have to go with Delrin bushings that will have some leeway or you can shave those as well.

They also note the shock mounts on the swinger are different so they went with the 350X shock on their 300ex. That would be an issue if you use that section of the 300ex swinger.....350x shock wouldn't bolt up on the 300ex swinger without mod.
Also, the 300ex swinger is shorter. I haven't ridden mine in years but I remember having that front wheel off the ground a lot :)

I am no fabricator but if you can hack off the 300ex carrier and fit onto the 350x swinger might be the easiest. But the lines/angles don't seem to match.
Some of the brake components may have to be modded too if the length isn't exactly the same. But people extend their swingers all the time so shouldn't be a huge hurdle.
