As I go thru the pile of parts while building the "scrap" 110, its remarkable to see the abuse and neglect heaped on some of these poor old 3 wheelers! I admit to some of this sort of thing while learning to work on them many years ago! The overwhelming desire to be out riding combined with little to no $$ for proper parts, well, leads to what we see here! Im cutting off a welded on shift lever to get to a surprisingly decent sprocket. Its nice to be in a better position currently to put the "scrap" 110 back together in a little more dignified manner!

Wow that is some shade tree DIY welding on that shifter....

I'm guilty of welding sprockets or shifters for other kids in the neighborhood growing up. Kids up the road always had beat to death bikes and no $$$ to fix em. I'm lucky that I only come across it on parts bikes now.

Man, that's one thing that I can't understand. A welded on shifter, hub, sprocket, etc.

No money or no desire to fix it the right way, but dad has that old stick welder in the garage...
