plan was to stick with the 185s projects because I have spare parts, but I'm checking out a different trike tomorrow, not sure it's a good deal, or even a good idea to get it. But if I do get it, I'll post pics and you all can laugh at my stupidity, maybe it'll turn into a long term project. maybe it'll be used as trading material.

Yes, I just fixed one for a buddy a month ago. Jack and some heat.

At least new, metal seat pans are available for the 70's.

looking around ebay and on line, a person could probably put this back together with a new larger motor, new plastics, new seat assembly and a bubble tank for under 1000 bucks. jim

bolted on a 50cc pit bike motor the other day, foot pegs bolted right to the China motor. found a twist throttle, and carb. ordered a pit bike electrics cdi, coil, plug etc. if I get some time, I'll get it wired and modify the flywheel so I can mount the pull start working then install the carb.
I've advertised a parts wanted ad locally. I'm surprised nobody asked if the trike was for sale. maybe beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. With the prices I see for beater trikes, I'm surprised someone didn't want to try to build it. jim

installed the harness, gave it a kick and got spark. then kicked it again and felt resistance. Found a broken knife blade under the flywheel. now there's no spark. I'm thinking something messed with the coils. So a new stator plate is on its way.
I'm bad with long term projects and kicking around the idea of seeing if there's any sort of trades available. jim

new stator plate showed up today, swapped it in and it sparked, a little gas and it runs. No idea what carb I have on there but probably needs to be cleaned. found a new china atc70 carb but the bolt pattern is too narrow. so going to switch back tomorrow after cleaning the pilot jet. but the motor did run a bit with gas down the carb. jim

cleaned the carb and it runs and keeps running!. threw a new ad on craigslist to see if there's any cheap parts local.
I was asked on my last ad if the trike was for sale, so I stuck a I don't want to sell it number on the ad. jim

now to get busy on the latest 185s.
reason I let it go, it was to the point having to order the expensive stuff. tank,plastics, seat, exhaust and chain guard. it would probably cost around 800 bucks if not more. I've already got a complete 85 atc70 so I couldn't justify to myself having over 1000 bucks into this project when I can spend less than that on my 185s and have four nice trikes for the same money. Not to mention I'm hoping for a call on this 83 200x that's been parked. jim
