adding a recoil to a pit bike motor?

my atc70 project. I've got a pit bike motor with a kick start that's missing the left cover. I have a spare atc70 left cover, recoil and cage.
my thought is, can I grind out the area where the pit bike cdi pick up is on the atc case, drill and tap the flywheel to mount the cage and use the atc70 recoil? jim

looking online, it looks like this is very doable. might need a spacer, I really dont want to weld the cage, might drill and tap instead. looks like I'm a coil away to get the motor running.
