ATC Identification

I need some help identifying what this is. Based on the fact that I see a starter and it's shaft drive, I think it's a 250sx. My question is, what year? I don't see a tag on the neck. Really don't see a 3 wheeler type front frame on it at all. Ad says a 4 wheeler front end was welded on. Seems like he isn't sure either. You guys think it is worth it for 600 bucks? It's 2 1/2 hours away and wouldn't mind making the trip if it's worth it. Would like a nice long term project to do and wouldn't mind sourcing a used 250sx frame if the original is hacked up badly from the conversion. I've already restored a 125m that sat in a barn, so I don't mind digging into a project like this and bringing it back to life. What do you guys think? Thanks

If you get the serial number off the engine, you can ID what year the sx is.

I'd offer them like $300 for the pile xD.
