my new to me 350x, looks like it had a loose chain and there's a hole worn thru about 1/8x1/4 inch. plan is to order a case saver chain guise but will jb weld work okay to fill the hole?
I did order front brake pads and will probably order the decompression levers and cable next.
the frame does have a few repairs. At least the case didn't get destroyed from a broken chain. jim

Yes but proper fix would be to weld it. Good time to rebuild the engine if it needs it.

There's an oil oriface on that side right in front of where they snap, just be aware of it. If you look at the cases you will see the oil hole, it may be part of the loop to the countershaft, I'm not sure and haven't looked at it good.

Nice 350X stator covers are hard to find...

went and loaded it up and took a bunch of bolt on stuff off before running it down for a title. And I looked at that crack area. now that it's in the back ofnthe truck and I can actually see. there is a bigger issue. looks like about the width of the chain and maybe a inch long, sort of pushed in from the top
like a worn or loose chain hitting the case and pushing it. so maybe a whole tube of jb weld.
does this cover unbolt from the engine? of is it part of the left side of the crankcase? Sucks because it starts right up, runs great except a metallic ting sound coming out of the muffler (motor running or off) there's something in the muffler. jim
