Hey Guys
I was wondering if any one could tell me how freely my crank rod should spin on my 86 atc350x? I took apart my motor last weekend because I had some other trouble with the motor so I decide to look at the crank. My crank spins over very slowly and very tightly, and you can feel at one spot of the rotation that it is very tight. I always thought that you should be able to bring the rod to the top of the power cycle postion and let go and it should drop down pretty quickly but my doesn't. Does this mean my main bearing is shot because the crank was just rebiult and I just have 2 hrs of riding on it :? :?: ? Also, the threads on my right crank lobe are messed up and damaged, can the threads be re-threaded and if so does any machine shop do it? One more thing, I have heard that if you rebiuld you crank that you should put in a new timing chain is this true?
Thanks for all the input.
