Here are some pictures of my winter project I am close to finishing up. Sorry for chopping another ATC y'all. Don't get too mad though. I pulled the 125M out of a scrap yard where it was parted out and buried 1/3 the way in the mud for a few decades and the frame was rotted out. The only thing that was really lost was a bent ridged fork I used to make the swingarm and a cracked up 110 fender I flipped to make the rear. The engine was seized and missing the pull start, timing advancer and cover, and pull start. Just took a little mystery oil and some spare parts and it fired right up. Really lucked out on the engine! Love the electric start. I still want to re-draw the fender stripes this weekend. I think the white part is too loud.
Here is a quick video I took a couple weeks back of the bike on its first test ride.

Those things are the champ!!!! Just rivet them on and you can micro tune any wrinkle out of the seat cover!

Meh. HD has been building the same bikes for 100 years. That badge is still available the same as it was during the 1980's. :naughty:
I mean, still V-twin, air cooled, and behind 40 years in technology compared to other brands.:lol:
The oil leaking issue they finally solved last year though. The engineers had down time during Covid to work it out. During WWII, they couldn't take the time to solve it because they were pumping out BMW copies (the XA).
I joke, I've gotten personal replies/treatment from HD HQ due to a personal request. Good people and good bikes.

You've got the design figured out and it's working. Can't beat that.
For camping or extended trail rides, if you could come up with some type of hitch or find a way to attach a Dual-Sport trailer, you'd have a single track camping beast, particularly because of the auto clutch and dual range transmission.

Building a small front rack above the headlights would be cool too. Something just to carry a small bag for snacks and a bottle or two of water. Stuff easy to get to for staying fueled while trail riding.
You're doing good on the videos. I liked the transitions you used on the last one, they worked good to keep the flow and are a whole lot better than jump cuts.

Oh man, that trailer is great! I'm going to build one!

There is a converted ATC trike on craigslist here in Maine. It looks more like a Rokon than the bikes you build. Kinda long and boxy. More utilitarian I guess. Not a pretty bike at all! I just love the way yours look. They look almost factory! I'm still toying with the idea of building one. I have a 110 currently in pieces. It was for my daughter but by the time I was ready she had outgrown it.
Take care

Here is a video getting a junkyard engine out of a 125M running and spruced up. Really lucked out, the thing was sitting the scrap yard for decades and it just fired right up.

I may have already said it, but good on you for keeping the Honda engines. That dual range is underrated. I wouldn't want to give it up for even more power of the aftermarket engines.
You've got a nice fleet of them now. Maybe step up the next one to a 2x2? Oh, it's been done, and you can do it.
It does add a significant amount of weight though.

Will do. I have a rusty throttle off a US90 that I want to strip down and plate. I will be sure to get really detailed in that video.

I have enough rims left over, some cracked up fenders and a rusty frame. How about an inline 3x3 Three wheeler haha. Motorcycle setup with two rear wheels chained together inline and find a 90 degree drive for the front tire. Oh boy. :p

Around here we have many trails closed to motorcycles. I would be building one right now if it weren't for this problem. But in searching for a solution I think I might have an idea. How about an inline 3 wheeler? Long swingarm with 2 drive tires.
I wonder how the law would look at it?
Would it still be a motorcycle?
Everyone I share your vids with are very impressed with your bikes Bigfoot. Most of them never saw Fatcats back in the day. My neighbor keeps asking when I'm going to build one. I have an old points style 110 that is rough and would be a good starting point. Man I got to many projects!
Take care

You'd have half of one of these, which I find intriguing that Polaris still builds.

If you could make the last wheel pivot independently of the first, it may actually be incredibly useful for utility work when pulling a single wheel trailer. Long and wouldn't turn very well, but would likely be excellent at climbing steep grades at low speed. It'd have a very narrow scope of use, but look cool all the same, while also showcasing your skills.

How'd I miss this post? I would love to see one. If you built one on a 200 frame it would be a tank!

Here is the latest video of the build. Just doing a little plastic welding to fix up the cracked fenders and making some fiberglass molds out of foam this week.
