Gun Mount Options

Finally going to get my bike out to do what I bought it for in a few days, grouse hunting. Looking for what people have done for gun mounts. I came up with this, but I might switch to a kolpin gun boot. Let's see what you guys have done.

As long as it works is what matters to me. I just got a hold of a 185s and looking at options as well.

I would do a hard case it would protect it more for those O sh*t moments. My brother had a hard case that mounted on the rack at 45 on the side it seemed to work good for him.

Not my bike, but how many of you guys go with this option? Any downsides to it?
