84 200es carb adjustment

So I bought the Big Red 3 years ago. Everything has been running great but it bothered me I put a Chinese carb in there. A friend had a stock carb for me to replace it which I did yesterday. It ran great until about 80% throttle then started bogging down. I am not sure if it is too much gas or air. Can I test either of these adjustments without taking off the carb again?

Yes, unscrew the topset (lid on top of the carb) and remove the slide, have a look at the needle adjustment, the clip at the top of the needle should ideally be in the middle, my guess it's not.
