86 R petcock still leaking

Fuel petcock was leaking around the lever on my 250r. So I order new gasket from Honda , shined up the back of the lever and installed back together and still leaking. Any ideas.

I'd pull it back apart and check for pitting corrosion in the petcock. Probably check the lever side for flatness too.
