as I'm trying to downsize, theres a atc70 motor, exhaust and air cleaner for sale. plan is to put rings and valves in it, swap it into my 85 atc70. So I grab the motor, spin it by the flywheel and there's a little compression. Check the valves and there's a little play so the valves are seating. go to grab a drill and 17mm socket, check the nut on the crank to verify the nut size.........someone sheared the end off and drilled the end of the crank!
So 50 bucks for a boat anchored. I've got a good head, cylinder, flywheel, exhaust and air filter housing and a shifter. lesson learned. check everything. jim

You'll always fail 100% of everything you don't do so don't beat yourself up too bad. In this case the parts are worth more than the whole....especially if the exhaust is good. You'll come out on top in the long run.

you have to realize I'm in tucson az where everyone thinks prices are 1990. I have a person semi interested in the 70, I told him he has to take all the parts with the trike if he buys it.
How often do you find a running complete 85 250r or 350x titled for 3000 or less? that's the kind of offers I'm getting for my trikes. At that point I'm keeping them and keep ordering whatever little things they need. jim
