By buddy just got a CRF250X (2006) that needed some work. I'm getting my 200X frame back this week and starting to get parts together and I don't have a rear master cylinder. This one doesn't have an external reservoir which seems like an improvement vs the 200X reservoir placement. Anyone used one of these before?

I’ve seen similar master cylinders fabbed up to be mounted on 250Rs and such. If it doesn’t bolt right up, anything is possible with some basic fabrication skills.

Getting it on the bike is no problem, I was more concerned about having an external reservoir or not.

You're fine with that set up, you won't run out of fluid if that's your fear. I prefer these over having to run a line to an ancient (out of round) master resevoir.
There are dozens of rear masters that can be used on these frames. Some easier than others.
With the 350X frame since I already have to weld gussets on, I just thread a couple posts in my lathe and weld them in the right position.
Some guys toss them on there and the brake pedal linkage doesn't make nice contact with the master plunger, best to find one that ligns up with slight modifications.

Thanks Dirtcrasher, that’s what I needed to hear. I’m using a 163FML engine so I need to make a new pedal and linkage anyway.
