I have a 1986 ATC350X.
I am I need of a front hub and I have a chance to buy and entire front wheel with hub from a 1984 ATC250R.
I am wondering if this will fit straight on to my 350X forks?
This is a complete wheel with tire.

What I am asking is if I can buy the 84 250R complete wheel with tire and put it directly into use on the 350X with out and modifications?
This an original gold colored wheel and hub on the 1984 250r.

well, I know for sure the front hubs for the 250r/350x/86-87 200x and 83-85 200x are different. Axle length differs as well (same axle 83-87 200x though) but differs on the other models. Front disk/calipers wont line up/spacers differ as well.

I'd wait for the correct front end to come along but....

83-85 200x front hub and rim is same as 83-84 250r. They will not work on 350x. The disks are located on opposite sides, also the caliper won't line up.

Every atc front wheel / hub is offset matched to its oringal machine. You need 85 or 86 350x front rim. 86 87 200x rim is the sane. The offsets lay in the hubs so you can't mix offsets. I learned this hard when building a trike once. Yes a machinest can make spacers to center correctly but calipers won't line up on rotors. I have a mint redone 85 350x front hub, if you wait a few weeks I'll have a mint 350x metalic powder coated gold rim to match. Or go to ebay and buy. Price these days $300 for rusted busted junk.

Reason I'm selling out of my hoarded redone 350x stuff now.

I've got two 350X wheels and hubs for my 85 200X build, I didn't know they were different as my bikes were just a few boxes of parts when I got them. I got both hubs powdercoated black and one of the wheels coated gold so I'm making it work. From info I found here, there is a 5mm difference between the wheel mounting face and rotor mounting face, and the bearing collar is shorter so the 200X spacers come up a little short. I'm planning to use the spacers to locate the brake rotor correctly relative to the caliper, and then turn the mounting flats down on the hub to center the wheel in the 200X forks.

If the R hub and wheel is the same as the 83-85 X, could this just be done in reverse with spacers instead of cutting the hub down?

I appreciate the input on this. I completely forgot about the right side front brake on the 2nd gen 250R.

Aaron I may take you up on the front hub offer when you are ready to sell.

SADLY, i sold all my 350x stuff yesterday. I do not want to build anymore machines. A guy i knew made me an offer on it it all and i lined my pockets with blues and greens.

Thats cool. I will find one later. I still plan to buy this 84 250R setup. It has a brand new kenda front max on it that I will use. Then I will sell the 250R front wheel to some one that can use it.

If you’ve still got it in a couple of weeks I would be interested in selling my spare hub and maybe wheel, or trading for the R/X stuff that fits properly.

I am picking this up the first week of May. Can you wait until then? I would be interested in trading for the correct front wheel and hub.

That works for me, I have spares and will probably still be working on my bike then anyway.
