200s no 4th gear

I got a 85 atc200s in unknown condition and after freeing up the throttle cable it started and ran pretty good I got the tires to hold a little air and took off it shifts through each gear find except no 4th gear no noises or grinding. How hard is it to split the cases and would the tranny parts be the same from a 84 200s.

84 has a down shift transmission and I believe the 85 is an up shift transmission .
You can cross reference the part numbers on partzilla to see what’s compatible .

Thanks I'll check that out. I drained the oil and sprayed some pb blaster in and I'm hoping something just stuck.��
