Foolishly not looking over the whole trike when I bought it ~10 years ago, I more recently discovered that a previous owner had stripped out the rear left wheel hub's splines and then not only welded the abused-stripped hub to the axle but also cross-drilled thru both the hub and the axle to install a bolt and nut to hold the hub stationary to the axle !

After a half-day's great fun of riding my iron horse throughout the 100 square miles of offroad adventure trails at the National Recreation Area Land Between The Lakes' "Turkey Bay", the weld broke followed by the cross bolt and I had to ride it back to my truck and trailer for 30 mins limping it with only 1 drive wheel...

..but I made it back just in time for sunset, hauled her home, replaced the bolt and nut a couple times over the years since then, and am now in the middle of a proper and "permanent" repair.

I've got new NOS Honda hubs, AllBalls rear axle bearing and seal kit, and am awaiting 2 used 41mm wrenches I bought of flea bay to remove/reinstall the rear axle big nuts. The outer locknut actually came off with a cheater bar on the handle of a 15" adjustable wrench, but the inner nut hasn't budged even after I drizzled Liquid Wrench penetrant on both the axle threads and the junction between the nut and drum brake cover.

Not wanting to damage the inner big nut, and knowing it may have been installed with ThreadLocker and that I'll have to reassemble the 2 big nuts to each other with what Honda states in the factory shop manual as 87-101 ft-Lbs of tightening torque force, yeah, big boy wrenches are on the way !

The only part I'm still shopping for is a GOOD REAR AXLE , so please do share with me any HONDA trike salvagers or dismantlers or 3-wheeler sources you know of -

THANK YOU !
