ive come across an unmolested 350x frame the other day. i have an 86 trx250r motor that i want to try to make work in it. i havent seen a single post about this and wondering if anyone has experience with this. a buddy told me about swapping a 450r swinger onto it for a couple extra inches... The frame is obviously quite large for the motor so i feel it would make fitting easier except for the pipe. any input would be appriciated

Is it just the frame ?. If it is, it’s going to cost quite a bit for the rest of the components. The engine you have is like a chunk of gold. If you could find a 85-86 ATC 250r roller with a blown engine it would be the direction I would go. Anything could be adapted into any frame. I’ve seen twin cylinder 250cc engines stuffed into an ATC 70 before.

I have a complete roller, basically just need to install the engine and make the pipe work I think is going to be the main problem

I’m with Bob. Find a 250r with a junk motor you’ll have a better bike.
The 450r swinger isn’t a direct swap , takes welding for the pro link and some fab work. Call HRE they have done it. You don’t get a lot of bang for your buck. And your subframe isn’t ready for it.
You’d be better off swapping a 400ex motor into your 350x. Matt did one a few years ago and was pretty extensive on the build here.
