problem on 85 200S

Hey, my 200s won't go into gear, i took the tire and chain guard off to if something was wrong there, i found that the sprocket waqs lopsided, i fixed that, but it still won't go into gear, it moves like, a half inch then just stops, you can rev it and it seems as tho it is still in neutral, but the indicator shows it isn't. Just wondering what you guys think could have happioned. I really wana know cause i just overhauled it and put dual straight pipes on it and never got a chance to try them out.

Have you ridden it since you had it apart? Did you take the trans. apart? It sounds like the shifter isn't engaging the shift drum right. On the right side behind the clutch there is the shift mechanism, that may not be lining up right or you could have weak springs in it. Here is a pic. make sure the circled parts are in the right order and working right, the rest if the parts are in the trans.

Could you give us some details on the work that has been done since the last time the trike was working properly (If any). This should give us a starting point on what might be wrong.
