I got the cylinder back from port n polish. I havent had a chance to test it in sand yet, but in dirt the front tire never hits the ground in all 5 gears if Im on the throttle, and thats with a +6 swingarm! I cant wait to put the haulers on and hit the sand....!
This weekend it will get a good thrashing and bashing to see what it can really do. Anyhow, here it is.. 85 Tri Z with an 87 YZ motor. I did a close up of the motor for you guys who have asked me about how it fits.

Now all thats left is polishing up all the aluminum, but Im to lazy to do it right now.. haha

One more of the motor..

This machine has been a drag bike all its life. It was bought new in 85, and was turned into a dragster, but with the Tri Z motor. The original owner raced it till 89 then garaged it. It was bought by an employee of his in 92, and he raced it till 97. He then built the aluminum +6 swingarm, billet fork seal guards, billet radiator guards, billet hubs, aluminum gas tank, and billet clutch basket all himself. He had a Tri Z motor, a 425 stroker motor (gonna be dropped back in this machine next summer) and this YZ motor he built in 97 for it. He parked it and it sat till last year, when he fired it up to sell it. Ive been throwing around the idea of chroming the frame, but that will come later.

That motor looks like it was meant to be in the Z. It looks great. Did the exhaust need to be custom made or not?

Sweet bike, what else is done to the YZ motor besides port and polish?

This exhaust is custom made, but no.. a Tri Z pipe will bolt right up. If I do start chroming everything, I will get a chrome pipe for it also. I like the way my DG is on my 86.

Nothing.. bone stock when I bought it, other then being bored 20 over. Oh, and its got a Tri Z clutch cover so it can still kick forward.

those pieces of crap are coming off tomorrow, and the Haulers are going on! lol This bike came from up north, and the sand is different then down here.. Those things dont hook up in sand for nothing.

I appreciate the custom one of a kind parts on that trike. That front hub is trick too! Did he change the bolt spacing to fit a smaller 10" or 11" rim?

Ive never checked if the bolt patterns are different. Im pretty sure the back bolt patters are same as the stock Zs, but I havent made sure.
I did get the Haulers on today, and it looks mean as hell now.. Im gonna try to get all my machines together for one pic this week now that they are all done.
