I was given a Yamaha 175 Tri-moto with the carb removed. I was told it needed a rebuild. I took it apart and cleaned it very well, making sure all the ports and jets and what not where clear. I got it to run but it floods hella easy with gas dripping out the tube on the bottom of the bowl. I'm guessing I need a new needle and seat.
Also do I need number 11 in this picture, http://www.carbparts.com/mikuni/vm20_44.gif
My carb doesn't have one. Could that be causing my flooding problemhttp://www.carbparts.com/mikuni/vm20_44.gif

I would tend to think if its the correct carb diagram. You will need it

well that diagram is for vm20 thru 44, so my particular carb may not have had this part to begin with, I just need to know for sure. There has to be some trimoto owners out there that can take a peek at their carb for me Pretty please.

By the looks of it, it looks like the needle seat or what ever it's called. It goes in the carb and the needle slides up and down.
Yes you do need that if yours doesn't have that.
Thats what it looked like to me.

Thanks for the reply BigRed!
I went to a Yamaha dealer and they told me the part is discontinued, so I need to hunt a used one down.
These things come stock with a mikuni VM24 right? I noticed Bombardier has an atv that uses a Mikuni VM24. Is this the same carb? Couldn't i just get the part I need from Bombardier then?

I checked out BikeBandit.com and it says it's D.C. Here's a pic of the correct carb and it's #10.
As far Bom. carb working with yours I really don't know. You can try ebay and get lucky like I did get one cheap, Paid $25 I believe for the 26mm that I have now.
