Maybe I'm crazy for wanting to do this, but a fellow board memeber has offered me an 85 and 86 TRI Z even up for my 87 Tecate 3.My Tecate needs about $400 to finish the project. It needs, some paint and polishing, front & rear wheelbearings, and a flywheel.

Features of my bike include, rebuilt KUSTOM KRAFT motor,OEM RAD. Shouds, OEM headlight, Nice OEM seat, NEW MAIER rear plastic, Nice OEM toolbox, Custom FMF pipe, polished DG silencer, polished swing arm, oem pivot bearings and seals, and more. I have the following spare parts to go with it ----Motor that's 90% complete, REAR shock, Radiators, CDI, Kick starter, Shifter, Carb, and some other misc parts.

The 85 TRI Z, I have yet to see. It is supposed to be an old flat track bike, witha recent rebuild on the motor. Has a lowered, and widened rear end, with small tires for flat track. Needs a Stator cover (I think), and some TLC. IT is supposed to run.

The 86 TRI Z, is mostly there. Te motor I have yet to see. It is supposed to be the 86 motor, but I am un sure of its condition yet. Bike is in need of full restoration, plastics, bearings, cables ETC. IT isa great foundation for a project though.

THe guy is wanting to trade me both trikes, and a new SET OF ITP 10 inch wheels 4/110 with new sand tires on them even up. My question to you is should I trade? I have already made up my mind so I doubt anybody will change my mind. I'd just like to hear first from some TRI Z And Tecate 3 owners.

An 86/87 KXT in poor shape is worth 5 nice running stock 86 Tri-Zs!! :D

Just kidding!

What's tempting about your situation though is the Tri-Z "flat tracker". If it's truly an old racer, then It should have some cool, rare aftermarket goodies.
