Well it would be best if you had 2 old swing arms and have them cut them in different places and weld them back together. I wouldnt think it would be much more than 50-100$ depending on your shop. Here is a pic I stole from muddy200x that shows how it could be done. Oh and I have an 82 swinger I would let go fairly cheap to assist you in this task.......peace

Where is Selma? We turned ours over to a fellow who is doing mine to 4 inches. He is out of Creswell. Might be far for you. However ours is going to set us back $120 extension, paint ? and about $100 for chains and sliders. Might hit more if you ad bearings. But I am going with new chain and sprockets. And we will be useing Banshee sliders. (I hear those are spendy). I wont need new brake line. This is on my 85 R. We have a 5 incher on our 350x. Jen

Wow -- and additional 5" on your 350x -- do you have a picture of this. I would like to get mine extended too -- not sure how much though -- seems like many do 2.75" -- there must be a reason for sticking with that number.

Nows the time to get this done since I'll be disassembling soon to install the extended axle, tapered bearing carrier, new sprockets and chain.

The Creswell contact you mentioned -- what's there turn-around time on the work? Thanks!

So far we are in a little over 2 weeks for him. This is the first time we have used him so lemme see how he does with my R swinger first. The 350x came with the extension already done. It really helps keeping that nose down on them nice steep dune hills. Here are a couple of picts of the 350x extension plus Its not a closeup of the beast, but it gives an idea how it sits compared to the other 2. Brian my hubby can lift the nose ok, while I cannot bring it up at all..

Oh yeah I forgot, we have had him for a little over 2 years (or is it 3?) and no problems other then its due for a paint job.

I had my 350x extended 5" cause we climb some steep hills. It keeps the front end down pretty good. I can wheelie with it any thime I want.

Thanks for the pics jenndnn3! Let me know how the R extension turns out when you get it back. I look into some other leads up here in the Portland area.
