Had an 83 200x for quite a while now. The rr. axle bearings recently went out. Tore it down today and the collar that goes between the bearings is not in there. Also it had 1 sealed bearing and one open type in there. Seems like every trike I get has had an "ace" mechanic work on it ,lol. Since when is it o.k. to just leave out parts when you work on stuff? O.K. I fell better now. Anybody out there that can help me out with the part I need?

Thanks,
Whiteman

I've been there.........some *mechanics* live by the creed "it ain't fixed right unless there's parts left over" I don't get it either, but it's the biggest reason I tear all of my machines down and inspect them right after I get them home. I might just have one of those spacer kicking around, I'll pm you if I do.

Not sure, but I will check to see if I have a spacer for you.

My 200X was going through wheel bearings about every 2 years. 10 years ago I fixed the problem and haven't had to work on them since. With the axle out, drill and tap the carrier housing for a grease zerk ON THE TOP, OUT OF THE WAY so it doesn't get knocked off. Cut a few small slices, taking out a piece of the plastic, on the greaseless bearings on ONE side. Put that side towards the inside of the bike and reassemble. When it's all back together with new seals, pump it full of waterproof grease. Once you see it coming out rotate it it and pump some more. Grease keeps the water and condensation from getting into the housing and ruining everything. I do this on swingarm bearings and steering stem and have the same results. Do it right while your in there. Kevin
